If only there were some clues: I've said it before and I'll say it again: if they are conservative, Christian and very homophobic, just assume they are gay. You'll be right more often than wrong.
I mean, we're f**ked. Well past the stage of mitigation and well down the creek of adaptation. It's even worse in THE GLOBAL SOUTH. Beijing in winter is a mess. India? Woof.
Rudy was arrested a few hours after his tweet. I’m glad Arizona did an end zone dance in his face. pic.twitter.com/jsyaDZcU6z— AZ Attorney General Kris Mayes (@AZAGMayes) May 18, 2024
Media coverage of Republicans stampeding to NYC to attack Trump's trial as illegitimate is marred by euphemism. This isn't just "currying favor" with Trump or "expressing loyalty" or auditioning to be his veep. It's placing Trump over the rule of law. 1/https://t.co/aWaE6XltrH pic.twitter.com/veCnRVzm2g— Greg Sargent (@GregTSargent) May 18, 2024
Boebert’s teenage son, Tyler Boebert, was in court 7 days ago, without his mother and without a lawyer, but here she is in New York, in court, for Donald Trump. pic.twitter.com/ItURtPJgXX— Alex Cole (@acnewsitics) May 16, 2024
The reason pundits are pretending that this absurd fantasy is a real possibility is simple: if you acknowledge Biden is definitely the nominee, it becomes very clear that pushing his age to the center of discourse & harping on it endlessly is simply campaigning for Trump. https://t.co/2FwiCVAF2k— David Roberts (@drvolts) May 17, 2024
South Dakota anti-abortion groups are doing something WILD: They're calling the voters that signed a petition to put abortion on the ballot, misrepresenting themselves as *employees of the Secretary of State*, and pressuring them to withdraw their name from the petition— Jessica Valenti (@JessicaValenti) May 17, 2024
In a red state, with a Republican attorney general? There's lots of recent examples of Republicans blowing off the law to signal support for their values, from Texas pardoning that killer to that Greg Sargent thread from a few posts ago. Republican election officials in Georgia and Arizona appear to be the exception, not the rule, but charges are only being filed in those cases because of Democratic attorneys general.
I am over 40 years old. At no point in my life has either Bill Maher or Maureen Dowd said anything interesting, thoughtful, useful, or even amusing. They are tipsy country club regulars whose reach should not exceed the room they are in. https://t.co/OTqqEObzlC— Max Kennerly (@MaxKennerly) May 18, 2024
Terrific story. If you’re the kind of person who believes in the Holy Spirit, you’ll really dig it. He feared coming out. Now this pastor wants to help Black churches become as welcoming as his own https://t.co/WRlbJDVtwC— The Associated Press (@AP) May 17, 2024
I dunno. I know who Bill Maher is, and even Maureen Dowd-- and without even trying. But this is the first I've ever heard of Max Kennerly. So even if he is right, it is already way too late, isn't it?
I did enjoy his point that three meals a day is just some bullshit someone contrived. So the article wasn't a total waste.
Democrats need to make “corrupted courts” a campaign theme and prepare to make it a theme for as long as it takes for the soil to be fertile. Winning every election for president until 2 Republicans die and oh yeah no Dems is not a viable plan. Brian, he flew a stop the steal flag outside his house AFTER the assault on the Capitol where Trump supporters tried to forcibly end the transition of power. He watched our democracy nearly violently fall and THEN he flew a flag to support to insurrection. https://t.co/tpDHNyeb0B— Chris Murphy 🟧 (@ChrisMurphyCT) May 18, 2024

How could @Politico even pretend that Trump might be “guided by loftier principles”? Did writer @calder_mchugh just fall off the turnip truck? pic.twitter.com/caBY7nG55c— Mark Jacob (@MarkJacob16) May 18, 2024
I won’t comment on the propriety of Supreme Court justice Samuel Alito flying a Stop the Steal flag while he was ruling on 2020 election cases—that’s for our Times readers to decide on their own. But I will say I relate to his frustration with Joe Biden.by A.G. Sulzberger— New York Times Pitchbot (@DougJBalloon) May 19, 2024
Pitchbot has a weird job. 1. Post things that actually happen. 2. Post imagined things that are 10% more absurd as reality. Why the Manhattan trial is probably helping Trump, by @DouthatNYT. Read: https://t.co/ykfwrv2tAZ— New York Times Opinion (@nytopinion) May 18, 2024
