Looks like everyone was clowning and complaining about Gemini so much that they turned off the picture generation option.

Man, Matt Schlapp is in trouble. Could not have happened to a better man!

Daily Beast: “As the once-storied Conservative Political Action Conference kicks off the 50th anniversary of its inaugural national gathering, the organization is finding itself increasingly anchored to the sexual assault allegations leveled a year ago against its longtime leader, conservative activist Matt Schlapp.”

“On Wednesday, the opening day for CPAC 2024, the Alexandria City Courthouse posted a batch of eye-popping new filings in the sexual battery and defamation lawsuit against Schlapp—including a subpoena to a CPAC official alleged to have overseen document destruction days after the accusations were first publicly reported. Schlapp was on notice at the time about potential legal action.”

Oh well.......So much for a happy family!!

After Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) criticized Donald Trump on a private call with his supporters, aides to Trump said that DeSantis is not being considered for vice president, USA Today reports.

Said press secretary Karoline Leavitt: “Ron DeSantis failed miserably in his presidential campaign and does not have a voice in selecting the next Vice President of the United States.”

Added strategist Chris LaCivita on X: “Chicken fingers and pudding cups is what you will be remembered for you sad little man.”

I do not detect any lie! More of this Joe! Hit them hard.

“I’ve been a senator since ’72. I’ve served with real racists. I’ve served with Strom Thurmond. But guess what? These guys are worse. These guys do not believe in basic democratic principles.”

    — President Biden, quoted by Axios, on Republicans in Congress.

Of course they are not babies. We define babies as having been born.

The question is at what point is this "thing" worthy of being protected. For me, it's at the moment that you get the first cell division. So 24 hours or so after fertilization. I understand that everyone has a different "moment" of when life begins, and to others, our moments are arbitrary. I believe that once that cell has divided, it is growing inevitably into life. So to me, it is worthy of protecting.

Frozen embryos are... different. And it's a gray area. And I'm not fond of absolutes in anything. I don't see them as starting this process to life, even as they have divided, because it's just in a petri dish. So, they are just there until the care is taken to implant them into the womb. And then after that point, it ought to be protectable.

From conception to birth is a continuum of development. As you mentioned, where people pick a spot to divide the continuum is arbitrary.

Personally, I don't have to live with the consequences of it, so I don't consider it right to force others to live with my views.

    Personally opposed? Very much so.

Being outlawed? Ugh... yeah. Uh, no. Let's just say I like the Clinton formulation: Safe, legal and rare. Well, very rare.

I believe life is sacred. I'm paraphrasing, but in Isaiah, God says, "You are fearfully and wonderfully made. I knew you in the womb and called you by name." But that's just me. I'm very happy not to live in a theocratic state since even of Christians of good conscience can't agree on much.

But since I am neither Republican nor conservative, I am as appalled as anyone here by the methods, and the ultimate outcomes, of the Repugnants in trying to outlaw abortion. If we had a kinder, gentler society, yeah, I'd be all for outlawing it. But what we've seen in my lifetime? No, gotta keep abortion accessible.

    Clear as mud, right?

Are you thinking of Psalm 139:13-14? Or is there a mirror passage in Isaiah?

It's interesting that Jeremiah 1:5 "God" says I knew you before you were in the womb - so maybe we should protect sperm as well (given that is what they thought was the seed that became a human, compacted and nourished by a woman's blood)!

The failure of American education to teach Americans about what an incredible step backwards the end of Reconstruction and "Redemption" was is a big deal.
