It is unfortunate that the headlines are that Israel is resuming fighting after the ceasefire/pause expired and not that Israel is resuming the fighting after Hamas violated the ceasefire/pause with a barrage of rockets aimed at southern Israel.— Judah Ari Gross (@JudahAriGross) December 1, 2023
Part of autopsy of the @RonDeSantis campaign is stating it loud and clear, without fear of what a vindictive Chief of Staff can and will do, is that @JamesUthmeierFL has never run a (national) campaign and stuff like this makes it clear. https://t.co/1wudVYcusd— Peter Schorsch (@PeterSchorschFL) December 2, 2023
Man, I bet the Notts County keeper got raging drunk after this. Has a professional team ever given us 3 #WPIOOTBGW in one game? Not until yesterday when Notts County decided to play Santa Clause & just gift away the perfect trifecta of goals to Shrewsbury in a 3-2 FA Cup lossBetween this and Hamburg, it was a big day pic.twitter.com/KjCieu6akn— When Playing It Out of the Back Goes Wrong (@wpiootbgw) December 2, 2023
Insert Michael Jordan meme. Community notes took it personal. And there could be way more. For example, he suggested that the employment numbers are calculated by consulting LinkedIn and Indeed (this is not true)— Lukas Tilmann (@LTilmann) December 2, 2023
That sound you hear is the MI GOP and the GOP screaming. Should be said we're the first state to register prisoners to vote once they're released. Whitmer and co have done a lot for the state in just a year mind. Imagine if she had that trifecta in her first term. Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer just signed into law two new voting bills:One would register eligible individuals to vote upon their release from prison, the other allow 16 and 17 year olds in the state to preregister to vote.— Kyle Griffin (@kylegriffin1) December 2, 2023
Seriously? WAPO never heard of the gilded age.. This is the most embarrassingly naive sentence I’ve read in an American newspaper this year. pic.twitter.com/OMjP8VPa26— Mark Jacob (@MarkJacob16) December 3, 2023 An exhaustive WaPo investigation has found that an extremely rich person has more political influence than a 7-Eleven cashier in Arizona. pic.twitter.com/8IdU6SbVw8— Mark Jacob (@MarkJacob16) December 3, 2023

Jeffries: Teddy Roosevelt had the square deal. FDR had the new deal. Truman had the fair deal. What President Biden and Democrats have accomplished in the last few years is a big deal. Now, Joe Biden says it a different way. I left out a word. pic.twitter.com/RfIW3stG02— Acyn (@Acyn) December 2, 2023
Could also be said of Trump but the cognitive dissonance in the modern GOP is stronger than the gravitational pull of a black hole. https://t.co/McjzndueXo— scary lawyerguy (@scarylawyerguy) December 1, 2023

Creepy sex-obsessed religious extremists currently attempting to demolish democracy and establish minority fascist rule want to control your body and your life, and they'll stop at nothing to do it. https://t.co/68tajWf29P— A.R. Moxon (@JuliusGoat) December 3, 2023
That's the only one that isn't obviously anti-woman, but I suspect it's a stalking horse for "men's rights" to ensure that an abusive or otherwise shitty dad gets access to his kids against the mom's wishes.
#7 is more anti-gay than anti-woman. Although it would obviously harm lesbians, it would certainly not harm most women in general.
I imagine it is forced paternal authentification. Child support is already law, but often the parent that keeps the children has to go through lengthy and difficult court process to get support, and the estranged parent can easily skip out on payments, especially if they leave the state. If the couple was never married, then that’s even more difficult to navigate. Many just don’t bother unless the other parent is wealthy. Better just to cut them out of your life than fight for 18years. I hear other countries will pay the mother and then are in charge of collecting from the estranged parent. That’s SOCIALISM!!!!! We don’t do that shit here in the goddamned USofA!
That's a cynical take. And this is 2023, so you may very well be correct. I used to be a fellow traveler with folks who were on board with the other "pro family" measures. I never heard anyone express your take, though. Most were scornful of fathers who skipped out on child support.
