This is beyond alarming.....When Clinton used the world "deplorable" it was in the MSM for weeks if not months. TFG called more than 1/2 of America "vermin", it lasted a few days and it is history now.

This needs to be the focus of every single Biden/Dem ad. It's either Biden or Authoritarianism, with no middle ground. Use video clips of Trump saying the first thing he's gonna do is go after his enemies and all the other horrific stuff needs to be in every ad and talking point. The good news is that you can have a whole bunch of ads with this theme and never repeat them.

This is not the time for the "when they go low, we go high" strategy.

 

I agree with your last sentence. That said, I am not sure a large enough portion of the American electorate thinks authoritarianism is bad. Sorry for the pessimism.

Yeah, I know a lot of the "swing" voters are not exactly interested in nuance, but when Trump decides to go after his "enemies," that could literally be anyone. Even these people who are considering him need to realize that it takes almost nothing for someone to be considered an "enemy," regardless of how loyal they might have been in the past.

Not that I'm anything close to a Mike Pence fan, but he was a sniveling lapdog when it came to standing by your man, but the one time he realized the Constitution isn't merely a suggestion, Trump was fine with the people who wanted to lynch him.

The news media is weak and failing to rise the challenge of covering his campaign correctly, and the stakes are even higher this time, he says. To his credit, O'Donnell has been calling trump a liar going back to his birther lies about Obama...and he's never let up for a second.
