I know it may be a bit early, but when you're trying to make plane reservations to go see your girlfriend, every week counts. :D

    Best options in July:
July 4 - v. Colorado. Kickoff 8:00 PM CDT. (Friday)
July 19 - v. Columbus. Kickoff 6:30 PM CDT. (Saturday)
July 26 - v. Chicago. Kickoff 7:30 PM CDT. (Saturday)

Travel time is about equal for each trip.

I'm planning on going to the Chicago game for sure. I'd love to go to all three games, but I'm sure that I'm in the same boat as many others with the lack of money and time to do all three.

What is everyone's take on this?

So when was the last "organized" in season road trip? Dallas 99, Chicago 99/00? I guess that's a Mystics question if they still exist officially as a supporters organization.

I'm planning on making the Chicago game. I've put in my vacation request at work, and plan on a friday night drive to STL, then a Sat. morning drive to Chicago, then back to KC Sun.

I know a few people are talking of the Crew game. I wont be going to that one. That drive is a biotch, and I don't have teh cash for flight.

I've already got plans to be in Chicago that weekend. I'm sure I can find time to work the game into my schedule.

OK, I am pretty sure that Ben is up for Chicago as well.

It looks like this could be our road trip for the year.

All right, lets see how many more takers there are. Then we will see how many drop out.

Ok...looks like drive to my place Friday night then go to Chicago the next day.

That begs the question, its hard to get tickets in Chicago. What do we do to get them? Someone figure that out, I'll purchase.

    Try This

GA and the Firehouse are both behind the goals, on opposite ends of the field.

Make sure you know what high school the Fire play at before you go.

    - Dallas was 98
    - Columbus was 99 and there was some representation in Colorado that year with me as well.
    - Big trip was to Chicago in 2000 as well as DC for the Cup.
    - St Louis was 2001. Colorado was supposed to be that year as well but it got canceled because they switched the game date around on us late in the season. That roadie would have been sweet too. Bus and all. I think some people went to C-bus as well that year?
    - Another big trip was to Milwaukee was 2002, any others?
    - Tulsa in 2k3 along with the planned trip to Chicago and there were a couple of us in LA.

There's been many. and I'm sure I missed one or two or got some years wrong, but that's the general idea.

I already took my annual road trip to LA, so I'm set for the year. I was set to go to Chicago with my roomate but she realized she was going to be in NY that weekend. Round trip to O'hare is about $100 when I checked earlier tonight. If I can work it out to fly I'll probably take that option, but I've spent way too many hours on car roadtrips this year to hop back in another 8 hour roadtrip. I'll wait to see on the USOC pairings and upcoming games before I commit to anything cause I love those games.

Ok, split the thread and got rid of all the non-roadtrip crap. It's over here now if you wish to partake in the festivities.

Let's get the roadtrip discussion going again if there is anything left to discuss.

Since you're not around I'll fill you in here. I asked everyone after the game Saturday about this and told them I would starta thread and sticky it, specifically about the Chicago trip. This thread will be up shortly, and will be used to coordinate the trip to Chicago.

So every thread gets a little off topic, but when it all the sudden is someone that doesnt like you the thread is worthy of a split and a move to Rivalries?? Thanks for letting Spoon or I know, considering I handled this with gofire2001 last week.

gofire2001: sorry that just because Derek doesnt like you that all your posts were moved. Not much can be done now, not a big deal though as the thread was dying off anyways.

Attacks aren't neccesary and since this thread is no longer needed, we'll close it to avoid further problems.

    Official Chicago roadtrip thread here.

I got a feeling we're gonna see a win up in Naperville. :D

Anyone making the trip on the Highway to Hell :) (Salina-Denver) for July 4? If so, drop me a PM. You guys were awesome to wcgcapone and myself last year; we're more than happy to return the favor.

Ok, guess the thread didn't close after all, but I guess we could use it for non-chicago roadtrips.

If it was at any other time other than the 4th, I'd be out there, but since I gotta chill out here and blow my hands off with drunken friends, I'll stick around.

For a guy having a brother living out in Denber one would think at least one of the two games out there would be an annual roadtrip, but it just never happens. Only time was in '98. I really wanna see that new stadium too.

Wait! I didn't mean for that to be a cry for sympathy. If you'll be there you can come buy our tailgate, only 3 of us though.

Could have sworn I already posted this, but guess I didn't. I'd like to Jeff, but I'd prefer to stick around here for the 4th and blow my hands off. One would think considering I have a brother in Denver that a roadtrip to Denver for a game once a year should be an annual thing, but I haven't done it since '98. When we were planning on going out there in 2001 as our roadtrip (but the game got changed to midweek late in the season, canceling the roadie) I wanted to be the first Chiefs fan to spit on the new stadium, maybe next year I guess. :p

It's an easy drive, and I wish I could afford it again. I'm not sure I could pull off the same ticket deal (Free field access) again, but it might be worth a shot later in the year.

As far as bodily fluids go, I'm really looking forward to Summer Sanitarium. I get to piss on the Dallas Cowboys star at midfield. :D
