Usually, we sit around here and complain about the Oscars. This time let's list the case where yoiu think the voters got it (more or less) right.

Here are a few to start --

1984 Best Supporting Actress -- Linda Hunt, The YEar of Living Dangerously -- One of the few times that a woman playing a man doesn't come across as gimicky in the least. She's absolutely brilliant in a gripping role.
1979 Cinematography --- Days of Heaven (considered by many to be the best-looking film ever shot. It's absolutely masterful on the big screen.)
1994 -- Actress -- Holly Hunter, The Piano --- She's tremendous in absolute silence
    1997 -- Actress -- Francis McDormand, Fargo -- Quintessential.
1987 -- Picture --- The Last Emperor -- The 80s saw several critics' win over more popular challengers. This is the best. That trend is refreshing when you look at the Forrest Gumps and Titanics of the 90s.

When they get a "Best Money Shot" category, then I might give a crap what the Academy thinks.
