Colorado ......1 1 - 2 Dallas ......1 3 - 4 First half - 1, Colorado, Valderrama 1 (Carrieri, Henderson), 2nd minute. 2, Dallas, Morrow 1 (Martinez), 26th. Second half - 3, Dallas, Kreis 1 (O'Brien, Suarez), 49th. 4, Dallas, Deering 1 (Johnson, Pareja), 68th. 5, Dallas, Martinez 1 (Pareja), 70th. 6, Colorado, Spencer 1 (penalty kick), 75th.
That was my initial reaction, when I found out Steve Morrow had been signed by Dallas, much less that he had scored a goal or two for them. But in retrospect, I think it's now merely a statement that Mike Jeffries is simply a better coach than Stewart Houston or Ray Harford. And to be fair, Suarez, Bonsue and whoever else is on Dallas' backline are all a damned sight quicker and better than Matthew Rose, Karl Ready and the likes of Morrow-era QPR.
At least 3 of his 4 goals this season, which have all come against Colorado, were scored from headers off of corner kicks. It's not like Morrow is running a long mazy dribble from his half into the Rapids goal box and hitting a screamer into the upper 90. And man we love Steve Morrow in Dallas. And it is very cool to see him in the Dallas media guide in the hoops. I think Morrow has more goals than Spencer this year. Plus Spencer got his goal off a PK, so Morrow won that battle too.
