England fans crowded Lisbon nightspots and mingled happily with French supporters after the game. One nightclub area was so orderly that a woman wheeled a baby carriage through hundreds of foreign fans and Portuguese nightclubbers. Police arrested one England fan for allegedly punching a venue employee at Lisbon's Light stadium, site of the Group B England-France match, a spokeswoman said. "Beyond that, we have nothing," she said. Authorities had considered the game to carry a high risk of violence and there were fears England fans would seek an outlet for their frustration after France turned round the match with two injury time goals by captain Zinedine Zidane. Sam Cooley, a 22-year-old university student from Leighton Buzzard, said he felt "gutted" by the loss. "When I was watching it, it felt like a dream because everything was going wrong," Cooley said as he sat drinking beer with friends in the central Rossio square. In the Docas nightclub sector on Lisbon's waterfront, police kept a low-key presence. "So far, so good," one officer said, holding up crossed fingers. SIC TV reported many England and French fans had headed directly to the airport after the game, and 50 flights were scheduled to leave for Britain through 7 a.m. England fans rioted at the European Championship in Belgium and the Netherlands in 2000. European soccer's governing body has warned England they will be expelled from this tournament if there is a repeat. In Albufeira, centre of the English tourist industry on the Algarve coast, about 200 fans packed into Lineker's Bar, named after a former English soccer player. At the final whistle fans left muttering and swearing under their breaths but there were no incidents. Later Dutch fans mingled with English holidaymakers, commiserating with them.
