Looks like there is a rain delay right now in Philadelphia. They are showing 2001 Spirit season highlights right now - infomercial.
Another excellent 'In the Spirit', by the way. So far there has been a very nice little piece on the staff and volunteers behind the scenes, a look into the pre-game locker room, and now a story on reserve keeper (Dr.) Shelly Finger and her off-field job as a veterinarian.
HA! Now Bobsled is walking around town in a getup washing storefront windows to the tune of '9 to 5'. She has walked up to some business man on the street asking him if his building already has professional window cleaners and is very bummed to find out it does - I don't think he knows quite what to make of her. Now she is washing a black limo.
Foudy is interviewing Mac on the beach now. They broke in prior to this to say that the game is still under rain delay.
It has been revealed that Mac 'likes to buy things'. She is now on a new (5th) house and a new car. Oops! Guess I'll have to tape that show next time. They just broke in with the game. Doing pregame stuff.
Darnit- missed the starting lineup. Looked like a 4-4-2 or a 3-5-2. Mac and Fleeting up top. Kester, Foudy and I think Mascaro in midfield. Fan and Pickup starting in defense. Missed the rest. Pichon is playing for Philly in a 4-5-1. There was a 42 minute delay due to severe thunder and lightening storms.
Whew! Pichon already behind the D but Fan tackled her cleanly in the penalty box. It was a sure goal I thought. Smo punches out the resulting corner kick.

Philly pressuring. Had a cross across the box, but Pichon isn't in range to get to it. Sauer clears it in front of goal before she arrives. SD moves ball down field. Fleets crosses to Mac, but I think Mac was ruled offside.

Philly shot, may have been a pass to Pichon, but goes wide left of goal. Announcer says that Kester and Fleeting are actually playing up front with Mac behind them.
