lol sorry to burst your bubble, as I know it'd be easier for you to dismiss my post if I was, but I am not a Trump supporter.

I already told you what will happen even if actual corruption is staring everyone right in the face. Furthermore, you are gravely mistaken if you believe I don't think Benfica gets helped. Pretty sure I have multiple posts that this isn't a surprise. Do you really believe that Sporting gets benefited just as much as a team like Arouca? Perhaps, but only in your fantasy land.

Arguing corruption when your team isn't the best. Are you saying that if there was no corruption Sporting would have been champions this year? Cause they wouldn't. Because as their results over the past years, in all competitions, except last year's league, its shown Sporting isn't even in the same realm as Benfica. Benfica in the past few years has made the Champions League quarter finals (they must be paying CL refs too right?) more times than Sporting has in their history. That is a god damn VERGONHA.

Benfica is in the state it is in because of reasons extending back decades and decades ago, not because of what some Manel ref decided to call on a random weekend. Rather than getting upset at shit that is going to happen anyway, get mad at your joke of a president who has managed to make Sporting less relevant in Europe than Braga over the course of his presidency. That is scandalous.

Does that improve Portuguese football ? Most players in that squad are foreigners.

Where did 14 of the Portugal euro 2016 squad begin their careers ? Where did 4 starters play? Where did the goalie play ?

    Patricio > all other goalies

That's great that you "already told me Benfica gets helped". If that's the case, then why bother responding with nonsense about UEFA? Furthermore, Benfica isn't just "getting helped", they've bribing and influencing refs the past few years straight in nearly every match. This isn't a PK awarded here or there. It's much more obvious than that. Also, I can't tell you if SCP gets benefited just as much as Arouca as I don't watch Arouca games. But I watch Sporting games and I see Sporting getting robbed on a consistent basis, much like the teams that play SLB every week. I also watch enough Benfica games to make that conclusion. Shit is obvious as fuck. It was only a matter of time until it caught up.

No, I'm arguing corruption when there's corruption. It's a simple fucking concept really. Not sure what you don't understand. Francisco Marques already brought out the emails, with more to come later. There's also the games, that clearly exemplify the blatant corruption, and the way the FPF handles certain situations. You choose to ignore the facts because you either don't watch the games (which I can almost guarantee, considering most Lampiaoes are part-time glory-hunters) or you're just too much of a homer to admit it. I've argued with you plenty of times about this, but you consistently bring out a long list of logical falalcies that prove jack shit.

And no, Sporting would not be champions this year regardless. Last year we would, however. Even when Porto was hot on SLB's tails, refs needed to intervene in game vs. Moreirense. Curious hwy they couldn't save you from Dortmund. Odd.

In regards to your claims about Champions League, you're ignoring my previous post. I clearly mentioned that because Benfica fixes the league and wins the league, they automatically qualify for a Champions League spot and are thus seeded in Pot 1 to avoid champions from all other leagues (Real Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern, etc.). Clearly, that plays into their advantage because they groups with easy teams like Besiktas and Dinamo Kiev. Congratulations. In a competent country with checks and balances, you wouldn't have such advantages.

Nah, I'm good. I think BDC is saying what he needs to say and doing what he can to expose the fraud that is SLB. And now, Porto is doing the same thing. The only way to rid the league of cancer is to expose it. Can't fault BDC for trying because as we saw last season, refs will do anything in their power to deny SCP a title. The only people upset about BDC are the Lampiaoes who either think it's impossible for the league to be fixed (when the league has already been busted for match fixing multiple times) or they are paranoid about all the evidence pointing to corruption. Sure, BDC should give less power to JJ, sure BDC should get off the bench, sure BDC should hire a director of football. But at least I know that he sees what everybody not wearing a red shirt sees.

3 on confederations cup. And a bunch of youngins on the u20s.

But, as far as improving the league the nationality doesn't really matter does it, there should be a blend of homegrown and foreign talent and weve been getting back to that since Jesus left.

Why? I really want to know your opinion and if you know why other Maritimo fans were against this.

Your asked the wrong person, in principle I have nothing against a Sporting/Benfica union but I am probably one of the only ones. The point is that both Benfica and Sporting are big clubs in the biggest city in Portugal where there is a concentration of wealth, whereas Madeira is a small island with much less people and resources that have 3 clubs that prefer fighting amongst themselves than unite and try and break into the top 5 and stay there. As a outsider (born in South Africa living in London) I have a different perspective and have not grown up in Madeira which changes things considerably (did not live within the rivalry). If I am right Nacional is in some ways are to Maritimo what Sporting is to Benfica but Sporting is much bigger than all 3 Madeira teams combined and since the topic is how to improve Portuguese football (and Madeira football) both locally and in Europe (which a united Madeira side could realistically be in consistently) I am for a united madeira side even if there is little chance of it.

the relegation/promotion obstacle does all the weeding off needed to keep one club in the top division for the up coming season.
