It doesn’t, why move him to a bigger squad to need an adjustment period, when he can be a sure starter for this team just before the World Cup and have plenty of playing time. This whole winter World Cup is going to force clubs to really think about what players need to be sold or held onto. If Johan goes to have a monster World Cup, some team is going to make good money.
This is what we need for a couple other players, if only for a couple of months. He's gonna get plenty of action on the defensive end and will help him learn to cover his teammates if Gallardo or Moreno somehow make it into the starting 11.
So you think he isn't good enough to go to a bigger team and start? I'm not saying a top 3 team, but a mid table competitive team that isn't fighting relegation all season. So let's just settle then
How so? Over the last couple decades they've let a lot of their players leave to Europe... Plis provide specific examples.
I don’t think a coach at a bigger club will let him walk onto a starting 11. Reality is, this deal isn’t horrible. He’s still in Serie A and with a lot of room still to grow.
Exactly that. Before and even at the beginning of América’s positive bump where they exported Diego Reyes, Diego Lainez, Memo Ochoa and Edson Álvarez, they were always looking to bring back players from Europe. They tried with Gio and they lost to LAFC. They tried with Layún and Moreno and they lost to Rayados. They succeeded with Memo despite Memo having arguably more prime years in him. Now they’re going for Araujo. PS. Ramón Juárez and Haret Ortega were never given a chance and Karel Campos is still spoiling in the reserves. Shame.
Gio chose a paycheck in MLS, Layun and Moreno had given up by the time they left Europe, there are worse offenders especially MLS imo
Of course, never said America was the worst. Not even the worst in Liga MX with Monterrey trying to sabotage any semi-decent euro career.
Araujo one of those weird players with decent club careers, in Europe even, and with the NT he just looks slow and awful at positioning himself. Not entirely bummed by the news weirdly enough one of the usual Twitter Mexican soccer guys reported that Johan’s loan has an option for sale for Genoa after the first 6 months so they may try to sell Johan for more if he has a good World Cup and first semester
Isn't Ortega doing well with Toluca? Either way, they won't get every one right but they've done more good for the NT than most LigaMX clubs over the last couple decades...
Never really saw the hype round Huescas in the minutes that he would play (which were plenty) but everyone looked like shit with Reynoso outside of the first 4 or 5 games of the Clausura Ojalá y le vaya bien si se va
Honestly, who knows tbh. I expect them to be way more involved than Slim at Oviedo and it would leave it theoretically wide open to move players from Santos/Atlas abroad and possibly get the prices that they want for Mexican players in Europe. So hopefully!
If Huescas actually does go abroad, that’s like 4 players or so who leave Cruz Azul for free to Europe lmao with like multiple sporting directors too
Smh. These Liga MX teams should get some dough from these players but they’re too dumb to realize it. They’d rather over price them to not be sold then get a fair amount.
