I quite dislike Arsenal, you see.

England's national team is their vehicle for glory. I rather loathe the Premier League, truth be told. English club football was miles better (in most ways) before it came along - even if the clubs, themselves, were not. Mediocre Prem clubs dominating the Europa League & Conference does little for the appeal of either - unless its Spurs, of course.

So to sum up : Spurs winning anything is good. Arsenal winning anything is bad.

 

I really dont, to be honest. I have a real distaste for the absurd way that clubs feel compelled to discharge managers at the drop of a hat, but that's a general curmudgeon's complaint against modernity rather than with this decision.

I dont follow Liverpool closely enough to guess at the dynamics involved. I can envision scenarios where I'd consider it the right decision and vise-versa. He's won a title and come 5th. If 5th isnt good enough for a club like L'pool, fair enough. But I wouldn't sack him for having done it once. You sack him if that appears the more likely standard going forward.

I'll leave that decision to them.

It looks like you can currently get 50/1 on Sheffield United getting relegated to League 1. Might be worth throwing a cheeky tenner at.

There's a very well-connected fella at Wednesday who works in the financial sector and who seemed to be pretty much on the nose with everything he posted throughout their crisis. Anyway, he's suggesting that they (United) are in far deeper poo than most realize. Apparently, they've already missed a payment deadline due to Coventry City for Gus Hamer. Transfer embargo and points deductions should be incoming, in accordance with EFL financial rules. He (Gus) and most of their more valuable playing assets are being shopped. Them out and nothing in might bring in a few quid, but will be a problem on the pitch. Former owner Prince Abdullah (etc., etc.) is demanding payments owed to him from the club which they appear unable to meet. They had a 2-point deduction suspended for an earlier violation that should now be applied, and the likelihood of further deductions is real.

Kris Wigfield, the chief administrator in Wednesday's recent saga, recently stated that a Winding Up Order is showing up on the Court Register that has been issued against the holding company of SU, and which should invoke the same EFL sanctions as if it were ordered against the club, itself. On other words, they're up against it.

You can still get 7/2 on them going up, so the reality of it hasn't hit yet. So 50/1 to go down might be worth a punt while you can get it.
