Dont obfuscate. You know perfectly well I didn't say anything about success. You said 'unmitigated disaster'. That's daft. End of.
Starting in the 80s the English game was dominated to a new degree by Liverpool, United and Arsenal. Chelsea and then City muscled their way in, with oil money. In the 23 year period being discussed, those 5 teams gobbled up 60 of the 69 domestic trophies. This is an unprecedented level of hegemony at the top of the game and we all know why. Expecting 11 trophies in 23 years in football today is unreasonable, with these clubs in the way (City especially). Arse and Liverpool haven't achieved that. (Also, we were relegated in that earlier period. Great success!)
Olympiakos and Fiorentina level (0-0) at the half in the Euro Conference final. I'm guessing we have an interested party on the boards, in support of the Greeks, no? Unless there's some kind of affinity toward AEK, or something.
Bite your tongue! Best game ever, Olympiakos become the first Greek team to win a European trophy. Now theses are scenes!
That's my question answered, then. So, do you have a thing for Olympiakos, or would it have been the same for any other Greek club in the final?
A good friend of mine is from Piraeus, but yeah, any Greek team winning a European trophy is a huge thing. And their under 19s won the Uefa youth league thrashing Milan in the final 3-0.
setting aside our mutual tribal instincts for a moment .... Do you guys agree that if MC somehow win this fight with the PL over Associated Party Transactions --- which would allow MC to continue being obscenely funded by multiple PIF-created entities - and give carte blanche to Newcastle (i.e. Saudi) to the exact same thing, on an even bigger scale --- the PL's future as a competitive league basically dies?

Manchester City vs. the Premier League. It's like trying to find the good guys in the Russian Civil War. edit: none of those links are opening for me, by the way, phone or box.

Yes, it will mean the end of the EPL as a legit competition. I mean, it's basically becoming a one, (occasionally two) horse race anyway. If Citeh win they'll basically be King of a league made of ashes, because no-one will bother watching it. A pyrrhic victory. I hate that club probably more than any other right now.
yes. 15 of the 20 teams need to vote that way. right now NU, Chelsea and Everton* are siding with MC's position on the Associated Party lawsuit. * christ knows why. they are a pure basket case of a club. edit: just read that Villa are leaning their way as well.
