Any of you guys going to try and catch a Miami game and see Messi play? He seems to be doing quite well in the US.
I caught a few. I don’t particularly follow players, so I’d only ever seen him play when he happened to play against Tottenham. Someone who does follow his career said he’s in great form, but still it’s not a great look for the quality of the league. There have been quite a few high profile talents starting with Beckham to play in MLS, only Zlatan comes close to the kind of transformational effect Messi is having. Zlatan was an insane individual talent who made a dreadful LA Galaxy seem a least partially credible (an exaggerated version of last year’s Tottenham if you will where Harry papered over a lot of flaws). Messi has taken an abject Miami and made them better. In the space of about 30 days since Messi’s first game, Miami will have appeared in two cup finals and are odds on favorites to win the second after already capturing one.
I don't watch MLS now that all the games are on Apple TV. I just refuse to pay for yet another subscription.
I get the “yet another service fatigue”, but honestly Apple nailed it. I’ll sound like a total shill for Apple, but their every game, everywhere, no restrictions is absolutely spot on. Not having to figure out which service or channel the game is on, or if the game is blacked out is exactly what I want in a league broadcast. I subscribed as much because I want to keep up with the Galaxy (because I’m a masochist) as to support this model. I want it to be wildly successful so I can watch all Tottenham games (because I’m a masochist)
Well I already pay for access to more soccer than I can watch, and better soccer than MLS, so I'm not going to pay for more. I say this as a long time DC United season ticket holder (before we moved away). If New Orleans had an MLS team, I would go to games because there's nothing like live football, but I'm just not interested enough to watch on TV. Speaking of which, who wants to watch the Saudi Arabian league? They are getting all the good players! I will never watch, ever. Are they even on TV?
I think the SA games are being streamed on YouTube, or at least they were. I watched the highlights of a few of them. Cronaldo looks decent but he's deffo lost some pace. He should call it a day when his contract runs out.
Early doors yet but Man Utd? Oh dear. I hope this isn't a big thrashing for Utd because if it is it'll take the gloss off of our win last week. We only scored one of the two goals, Forest have already scored two.
Strange. The opposition supporters always cheer when a player from the other team gets sent off. Supporters even bay for it to happen but.............is it a disadvantage? Yesterday Fulham were behind with a man down yet, came back to draw 2-2. Today, Liverpool were a man down and behind 1-0 yet recovered to win 1-2. So why want a player sent off when 10 often draw with or beat 11? Makes no sense.
It'll be hilarious if Salah insists on going to Saudi Arabia and Liverpool receive an offer they can't refuse
Chelsea might be in trouble because that's Forest's first win against them since 1997 at The Bridge. If you lose to a team you normally beat then it's bad news.
As a kid I used to go to Stevenage and I still like to see them do well. They were premier league south back then with Dover and Walton and Hersham.
Arsenal play 3 matches in 8 days, Everton, PSV and then us. We play 2, Sheff Utd then Arsenal. With a possible Euro hangover and a bit of fatigue they might be experiencing, we should win this encounter.
Cuti Romero was man of the match in Argentina's 1-0 win over Ecuador in the opener of the South American WC qualifiers. He completed 66 of 68 passes, won 7 out of 8 ground duels, and won 4 out of 7 aerial duels. He received rave reviews from his coach and teammates, including Messi. Is this the same guy who was rubbish for most of last season? Is there a Bizarro World for Spurs and Spurs players?
He weren't rubbish, he just got sent off too much, which meant a bit more of Dier or Sanchez. ... which is pretty bad, to be fair.
Onana is in no way, shape or form, better than De Gea. What a terrible decision letting David walk away.
Man Utd fans singing the praises of Reguilon. Aston Villa fans cursing Lenglet 'No wonder Spurs fans didn't want him back.'
You've got Luton, Burnley, and the pigs all looking like winning a game is beyond them, and you're thinking Brentford can't make the grade? They've only lost two of six. It's way too early to presume anyone down, but if I were guessing, there'd be a good half-dozen I'd put before Brentford. They're a pretty well-run outfit.
