Not commenting on yesterday’s game until after Saturday. I don’t know how I’m going to make it from now until then.
I've just seen a video on youtube of Brentford's new stadium under construction at Lionel Road. It's much further along than I'd realized, and I would guess that this coming season will be the last for Griffin Park. I dunno if I'll be able to get over this season, but if I do, I'll have to try to get one last one in. Yet another of my favorite English footy grounds soon to be no more.
I would chip in a £ to make Lampard to Chelsea happen. Watching the drama unfold would only be topped by a John Terry appointment.
It’s the Sun, so probably a load of nonsense, but Lampard reported to sign a 3 year $16.5m deal? This is going to be so much fun.
Excerpt from a letter to Stan Kroenke by 14 Arsenal supporters groups: “On a matchday the Emirates Stadium can be a soulless place. The atmosphere is poor and there are thousands of empty seats blighting almost every game." Stan Kroenke, boy I just love the man, keep up the good work!
not particularly nice seeing Liverpool showing such sterling form … but seeing Arsenal get dismantled is always a joy. net positive for me.
interesting stuff at Carrow Road. injury-plagued Norwich playing really nice stuff. up 1-0 v Citeh. atmosphere in the ground absolutely brilliant - as you might expect. don't walk away from this one. not yet, anyway.
Liverpool’s title to lose now. Five points lost after five games is quite the gap. On the other hand they’ve not faced a top six side away from home; really apart from Arsenal they’ve not had a particularly difficult early season. Defending those 5 points for 33 games is going to wear on them.
That was kind of my thinking asking the question above. Spurs shows last season that they can get away w/o Kane via Son and Maura Man City have Gabriel Jesus and De Bruyne Liverpool have Sane. If any one of Kane, Aguero, or Salah go down, how will the rest of team do? And really, I think the title is between Spurs, Man City and Liverpool. London Red, London Blue, and Man United are all contenders, but outsiders to me.
Loved the buildup to Norwich's first goal - they held the ball for TWO minutes befroe winning the corner that led to McLean's goal. They out-citied, Citeh...brilliant. And Kyle Walker had a real shocker. And Emery's boys dumped 2 points at Watford. Sokratis is the biggest malaka known to man. And now the Arsenal supporters are calling for Emery's head after thinking that the solution was as simple as getting rid of Wenger.
some of Norwich's play out of the back was a real joy to watch. I mean, that was a very composed group. all the talk of injuries and such … I don't know how much those back six have played together, but crikey, at moments, they looked like a very classy unit.
Can't believe City still have Ottamendi in their team. There was a pretty good defender available for a mere £25 million this summer...
