It's more like saying, I won't eat veal, because of the way the calves are treated, but I'll eat beef.

You're not pro-peace either. And there ISN'T world peace anyway. I saw Bush saying that "Saddam Hussein is a threat to peace." ************ man, there are 37-38 wars going on worldwide right now. Americans continue to submit that the world is at peace, and that Saddam is a threat to that peace; by doing so, they also continue to be ignorant of the world around them. We declare the wonder of our "Information Superhighway" high-speed consumer culture, submitting that it ought to be embraced globally, yet that culture cannot even educate the majority of us, our President included, on the real state of the world.

The world is not at peace. If America cannot even know or recognize that, is it any wonder that America cannot lead in a way that makes global peace a possibility?

Can we please stop pretending that "anti-war" and "anti-Saddam" are two mutually exclusive categories? Thanks.

Peace is a sort of all or nothing proposition, isn't it? By claiming that "Saddam is a threat to peace," Bush is not specifying "American peace," but rather, "Peace." And again, there is not peace, and has not been peace...ever.

Not unless you've redefined the term to suit your own purposes.

I think it goes something like this:

    Ian - Right-wing extremist

    Colin -- Corporate stooge

    Alex -- Fascist

    Bomb -- Crypto-fascist jack-booted thug

The Bush Admin. -- evil incarnate

The Bushies have been lying about Iraq since Day One and their ever-shifting stories have been exhaustively documented in many threads. Geez, just search Loney's posts for entertaining lie-by-lie coverage of Bushie prevarications.

They tried to link Saddam with OBL (and by extention with 9/11. Such attempts are not only horribly cynical but such dishonesty also completely disrespects the vicitms) but all their own tape had was OBL railing against Saddam as a secular devil. Yeah, yeah, it was "reverse psychology", I suppose. Uh huh. Right.

And the Bushies have been howling for war for months now as their first, not last, option. Only the fact that the Euro leaders suddenly grew spines and stood up to Bush's "yer with us or agin us" bullying kept Bush from invading last September. Technically, it is true that if the Bushies really wanted to burn all bridges and become global pariahs, they could have invaded already. Then again, they could also nuke North Korea and declare war on China if they really wanted to.

Fair enough, you can believe that if you want just like people can believe that there were Iraqis on the 9/11 planes if they want. I'll point out, though, that the Bushies can't prove a damn thing and it ain't for lack of trying.

I'd post the pics of you guys looking at your overturned truck but I can't find them. Did they get wiped out in one of the BigSoccer crashes?

So is this going to make your packed train ride home sitting next to the fat Polish woman who smells like boiled cabbage any more bearable?

Designated driver in this case meaning you're not allowed to aim and fire while the truck is moving.

The Poles are all out in Schaumburg these days.

Is your post going to make your gridlocked 4mph car commute back to your monotonous soul-deadening subdivision while eating exhaust belched from an old pick-up driven by some burrito-scarfing illegal immigrant any more bearable?

I live a hundreds of miles away from the nearest metropolitan area, and the burrito-scarfing illegal immigrant driving the old pick-up is my chauffer.
