I was thrilled after the last 6 years we suffered though to see us win the Scudetto. I had bragging rights over all my friends who are supporters or Milan, Inter, Napoli, Roma and Palermo and the fact that we went unbeaten made it even better. Our squad last year was strong but I know that this year competing in CL again as well as trying to repeat would be a tough task since we werent as deep as we were back before calciopoli when we always were strong for all 3 completions. I been happy with all the moves so far and we lost no major players (Del Piero aside but he was reduced to a sub) gained some quality players and also get Giovinco back where now he wont be the wasted talent he was a few years ago with us. As we know most of these clubs in Europe decide by mid season are they going to go for a league title, push harder for in the CL, or just hope for the best and try in the league and try to qualify for next years CL as well. Even with the moves we made pushing for another Scudetto repeat wasnt going to be as easy this year since we have more matches to play but AC Milan has really helped us out greatly with their sell sell sell and not buying anyone of quality, I cant see how this squad expects to compete in Serie A and the CL now, they were our strongest foe last year but now it changed. Udinese- If I was a fan of Lazio and Napoli I would be pissed that they grabbed that last CL spot only to basically sell off their whole squad this offseason. They will be lucky to compete for a top 10 spot this year. Napoli- Will be strong again this year despite losing Lavezzi but they still gotta also compete in Europa so I dont see them as much of threat for the scudetto. Seems like they are just going to push for CL qualification next year and will be happy with that. Inter- No moves made of significance, I doubt Palacio is the answer to be aside Milito and If Pazzini goes more the better for us. Inter can score but they also gave up a bottom feeder amount of goals last year so they will lose and draw many matches. Lazio- Finished 4th last year which was a surprise but it wont happen again especially since they have many aging players. Roma- Solid squad but a threat to us for the Scudetto? No way especially since there is always the chance Totti misses many matches due to injury.
milan will probably pocket some of that sale money, but they could definitely still be a threat. their attack isn't that bad as it is with pato, el sharaawy, and cassano. they definitely need a CB reinforcement, but they could grab ogbonna or astori or 12-15 or even jump for someone like mats hummels. let's say they grab hummels for 20 and destro for 12, that's still a solid team. there's no telling who the injury bug will hit this year either. napoli-although lavezzi was fantastic, i think pandev and insigne will do a decent enough job replacing him. their problem is the back, and they don't seem to have done anything to fix it so slotting them in somewhere between 3 and 6 again seems reasonable. lazio- could use some depth, but if they get that striker from turkey and stay healthy i think they could be solid and also once again fight for anywhere between 3 and 7. inter- to me they are kind of a mystery. we still don't really know what strama will do, but if milito is in form and palacio plays well, they've got some promising youngsters in midfield. the defense is a big problem tho that will have to be addressed beyond silvestre imo. roma- no end in site to defensive woes. i think the selling of borini (even if to bring in destro) is downright foolish and they will not be in the mix for the final CL spot
I dont think Milan will sell and not bring in anyone of quality. Im thinkind they bring in either Dzeko/Tevez to replace Ibra, and Ogbonna/Astori to replace Silva. Man. WTF have things come to, Milan selling their 2 best players to PSG. Imagine this 10 years ago. haha.
Yes Giorgio made Ibra his bitch and slave on many occasions but Ibra was truly a fantastic Minnow Destrotyer for the club. In terms of Scudetto hopes I'd say Ibra was much more valuable a piece. Not taking anything away from Silva who clearly is a top flight defender.
