...I was about to kill the "EEEEE-Naaaaa-Ko" kid and the marketing genius he rode in on. Anyone else want to play "I'm glad it's over because..."?
Strange thread. So many mullions of people have worked for so long for this event to happen and those folks are a bit lost at the moment. The billions that live for the world cup are probably a little lost as well. Surely the only ones that are happy are rival tv networks and sports
Ummm - actually it is Ke Nako (meaning It is time) but the worst for me was the Hyundai ads with the big soccer balls that are blown to Cape town. And when they closed the highways so that the Fifa bigwigs could travel in style Best Ad was the nike ad - especially since it shows all the Big Stars that were sent packing early in the tournament - Ronaldo, Rooney and Fabio! I am not glad it is over - suffering from WC withdrawal symptoms.
Thank You! Rep! My ire is fading. It seems like sometime during the month, I would have picked up on that. "Smiley" Bob Ley never mentioned it as far as I can recall and that little nugget is right up his alley. I'm glad it's over because... ...I was missing far too much work in order to watch all the games.
..it sucked. Football anno 2010, over-organised chess play, where initiative is a forbidden word for a player. Time to change some rules, like not allowing defending with 11 men, 3 have to be on the other half or something like that.
