It certainly looks promising but, you have to wonder how many of these guys will end up being just above average players or being sold as Stokes was.

I really hope and can't wait for Merida to develop into a first-team player though. Is he on a youth team currently or the reserves? Is it possible he could be loaned out next year?

For a player as young and as gifted as Merida you could almost certainly rule out a loan move. From my observations on Cesc, I think that Wenger wont want to loan him to a team (or manager) that may hamper his development. Only Arsenal play like Arsenal!!

Good god, our depth and quality is staggering! No wonder there's no room for Stokes, Larsson, et al. Look at our up-and-coming midfield/attack-oriented players:

    Cesc
    Merida
    Vela
    Theo
    Bendtner
    Denilson

Where are the minutes going to come from??

And RVP is only 23; Ade is only like 21/22.

And look at our U-20 back line:

    Johann and Phil
    Traore, Hoyte
Eboue is only like 21/22, too.

Great days to be an Arsenal fan. The going's good and is ony going to get better!!!!

we will all agree that our future will be very bright. our next crop of youngsters are shaping up to be our best crop. many of them are being touted as future world class stars and most are already international level, 2 are captains.
thats pretty good work by the sun but that missed out barazite, connolly, randall and lansbury who also all look promising
also, im not to sure about this...

    Rui Fonte (16)
The Portugal star is yet another striker being nurtured in the academy.

Fonte joined from Sporting Lisbon last summer and is already pushing for a place in the reserves.

A clinical finisher inside the box, Fonte is expected to be farmed out on loan next season.

he cannot go to another club on loan from us as he is already on loan to us. for a couple of years i believe

What does it say about a team in which, Stokes, Larson, Lupoli ,Allialidare, all top quality players can't make in?

i saw sheffield wednesday vs man city and they really do play the arsenal way (1 touch pass and move)

ive seen a few plymouth games on skysports and they play the arsenal way aswell.

although you will never get a team who can play better than arsenal (in the arsenal way)
i still think its important for the young guns to gain experience, playing for points which may lead to promotion, playing infront of 20000+ fans (most big championship clubs)
    and playing under pressure.

is far better than playing in the arsenal reserve league.

Except that they are training with players that are crap, instead of the best players in the world.

I just hope they all stay, for example Bendtner... I'm pretty excited about him, but I'm not sure if he's still wanting out, because he was talking about it earlier, wasn't he?

Also, since Fonte was mentioned, I don't understand why we loaned out a player like that, unless we would eventually buy him. Is this the case? I doubt we would just send him back... The only thing that makes sense to me is if there were some illegality that doesn't allow us to buy him yet, so we just agreed to loan him and then eventually buy him when it's possible.

He isn't on loan. He signed a three year contract earlier this season after a trial period with the club.

    in the words of wenger
''you dont know how good they are (academy players) unless you play them in the first team.''

going out on loan nd playing in meaningful games is a step up from training with first team players.
and when i say gain experiance gilbert earlier in the season got red carded in a championship game for aggressive behaviour, now he will learn from that, and hopefully wont do the same at arsenal. this is just 1 example but i think you get my point.

    I second your statement.
It always felt great to be an Arsenal fan, but from now on we can look into the future with such delight and confidence that no other team's supporters even dare to dream about.
    All because of Le Boss.
Arsene Wenger's magic lifted our club into the stars and created a legendary team that achieved the impossible and he's not done yet.
    Far from it.
Le Boss' vision reaches way beyond the amount of years that he could spend at the Gunners' helm as a manager (except if he stays in the same position until his mid 70es LOL) ensuring Arsenal's very bright and promising future for decades to come.
I'm not ashamed to admit that I worship this man.
Wait a sec! Let me correct myself here: I hope that AW stays until he's 75 just to give SAF a coronary! :p

Notice that Wenger said "play them in the first team" not "send them out on loan."

Of course, we still need to find a keeper who's a notch above Almunia.

I agree that the future certainly is looking quite bright.

What I find interesting is that the only position at which we seem to be lacking a production line is at keeper. It just seems strange that given our success everywhere else, that we are lacking there.

I know that many think keepers develop late and certainly are cheaper to sign than are similar class at other positions. Still, I would think we would have at least one promising spark in that area if we have such depth elsewhere.
