Honestly, I am very excited for this upcoming season. Even if we just barely make the playoffs, I won't care because the club seems to have become more responsible and professional then it ever has been. I really can't wait to go watch the guys next year, who ever they may be. This will be a great year.
I always feel this way before the season and they always underachieve. Before last season most people had us pegged as MLS Cup champs.
I'm pretty excited about Bob Bradley as our coach and about the upcoming season. However, look at how many other seasons the Metros were going to be "the team to beat" in the East or in MLS. Last season was supposed to be MLS Cup or bust - and that is coming straight from Jolley - remember? I believe that Nick has to be out of the picture before the Metros will win it all. I really want the Metros to succeed but I'm not going to build up high expectations just to be let down if they finish out of the playoffs again. MLS is more competitive than ever. This is a 1st division club in an up-and-coming league with good players. Anyone on our team who doesn't think that way should quit immediately. Winning involves pride and effort each and ever game. Whether or not the Metros can accomplish that remains to be seen.
Things are definitely looking up in Gotham. Best of luck on the Harrison Stadium deal too, we're all pulling for you guys. -Tron
Play some FIFA2003 and use Inter Milan. Then substitute the blue for red. Bam...New Metro Jersey. Nothing wrong with it...nothing great either. Lets just not turn this into another "new jersey" thread sorry
Or just visualize red and black when you see a striped Nike jersey. I'm also excited. This year we should easily win the treble, but I have been believeing that for the past three seasons.
I want to wait until I see what players we pick up in the draft, trades and discovery.... then I'll get excited.
