Gotta say though, I love Arsenal. My British friend got me involved a few years ago. David Seaman is the best goalie EVER.
I've been an Arsenal fan for as long as I can remember, but as good as David is, he doesn't make my top three, maybe not even the top 10! As much as I hate to say it the best goalie I've ever seen is Scmeichel!!! He and Cantona were the pivotal pieces in ManUre's domination of the 90's. You can't over estimate Peter's importance to their success. So my top 3:- 1. Peter Schmeichel 2. Pat Jennings 3. Gordon banks Below that come a distinguished group who I couldn't separate including; David Seaman, Brad Friedel, Kasey Keller, Gary Sprake, Peter Shilton, Ray Clemence, Alex Stepney, Mervin Day, Shane Given, Neville Southgate etc etc... Outside the English game, Oliver Kahn, amongst others, would also make my 10 best list before Seaman.
I think I'm gonna like this kid. I'll love him forever if he answes this question correctly: What do you think of Kanu? Rein mais le Quad! OPArsenal
What do you mean? I think he's good. He's Nigerian and a forward. He used to play for Ajax. Please elaborate.
Seriously, as not just a Gooner, but an American, you should be angry at ManUre for their tour that pretends as if there is no top tier league in the US. Bayern München flew over and played the Metros @48-72 hours after winning the Champions League. Tottenham Scum are playing DC Scum. Instead of helping draw attention to MLS and its teams, this summer's Manure tour is an insult to American soccer. I'm holding hope that the Gunners will come over soon (sans DB10, no doubt), and will play MLS sides.
Me too. I've also heard Graham Souness talking about bringing Blackburn over to play some friendlies with MLS sides. I could get behind that.
David Seaman is a very good goalie but not even in the top 10. Peter Shilton was better, Ray Clemence was better, and Gordon Banks was also better. Outside England there have been many better ones also: recently like O. Kahn, Dutch 70's goalie Youngblood, Germany's Sepp Meyer, and of course the great Russian Yashin. My personal favorite (although probably not the all the time best) is Ray Clemence of Liverpool because as a kid I watched them beat M. Gladbach for the Euro Championship and soccer forever became part of my soul. Cheers DD
