I just saw this on Facebook.... Is there any truth to it? Roma have reportedly chosen Stefano Pioli to be their next coach, according to La Repubblica Padre Pioli to the holy city
Well, Ancelotti is almost certainly gonna be out of a job come summer time so here's his opportunity to come back to Roma.
Not happening. Ancelotti has been avoiding this team like the plague for 3 decades. The guy has zero sentiment towards thew club, and zero green reasons to come.
It could very likely be Allegri. Mostly because he hasn't said anything in a while and silence is usually golden.
1920828158799950254 is not a valid tweet id Di Marzio lists the 4 candidates. for me 1. Gasp 2. Fabregas 3. Farioli 4. Vieira
Didn't see much of Genoa this season but don't get why there've been rumours about Vieira for weeks/months. Doesn't have much to show, does he? I'd be happy with Fabregas or Farioli. Italiano would be a proper choice too if we could lure him away from Bologna. I just don't want Allegri or Pioli.
Cesc needs players of a different profile than those at Roma. Other than Gasp, those names listed I don't think are right for Roma. IMO you should all be begging Ranieri to stay one more season. Out on the streets, begging and pleading.
I made this post about Cesc in the Como thread. I think he is by far the most interesting name in the list given his ideas about how he sees football and what its become over the last 10-15 years. I think he could be the one that gets away and Roma should be at this minute doing everything they can to interject. His interpretation of the game is closer to Ranieri's thinking in terms of making players play and make decisions themselves. Its was just hard to imagine Cesc having this mindset given the country and teams he played for but for me, his views mark him out as a guy who thinks beyond the current trends and he can be exceptional for years to come. While someone like Farioli I really dont think I could stomach watching this style of play again so I would be ok with even Vieria over him. I do see him as one you could easily pass over but if you consider his personality, his name and his style of play that leads a group in a similar way to Ranieri then it makes a lot of sense. He has the character to handle Rome. His team at Nice was the last time I seen him closely and for a time it was classic Ranieri style results. Steady, boring game management style of play. Not a modern thinker in terms of a trendy system. We seen what Ranieri could get out of this group with a simpler old school approach and Im not surprised he doesnt want a revolution within the squad. Gasperini as the reports suggest wanted to blow up the squad as so many dont suit his play. Hes probably the one I would be ok with handing over the keys to do that but I dont think that needs to happen either. The squad has shown it can get results playing this way, its hard to say after what they have done, the best way forward is to then blow it all up. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/md27-roma-vs-como-march-2nd-2025.2134331/#post-42834298
I read that Como post. I think it's going back to the way it's suppose to be played. I already see it with some of this TikTok generation like Lamine Yamal. He's 17 and it's clear he knows what to do without any real instruction. For someone so young, he makes a lot of right decisions.
