IK Brage appears to be on the way to relegation in the Swedish second division. Whats next? How many divisions of Swedish Professional football are there and could they actually be forced to lose their Professional status. Any help would be appreciated.

With three games left of the season Brage is trailing four points behind Ängelholm who are just above the reglegation zone. A though task but not impossible.
As for Professional status, It is only in Allsvenskan that all teams are fully professional. In Superettan most teams has a combination of pros and semi-pros. Below Superettan is the second division, that actually is six regional divisions. In the Second division you hardly find any fulltime pros. All teams are semi-pro or amateur.
If Brage goes down, they probarbly have to release their most wellpayed players and cut the wages for the rest. But nothing forces them to do so, there are no rules in swedish football that states that in higher divisions the teams must be professional and in lower divisions the teams must be amateurs. The only rules are that the stadium must be of a certain standard and that the clubs can't be in dept.
Theoreticaly a amateur team can play in Allsvenskan and there could be pro teams playing at low levels of league system.

I'd about given up so I thank for the info. I have been a Brage fan for years as my family comes from Borlange but as a non-Swedish speaker I cant tell whats going on in the League.

brage has been a good club long time ago but they are pretty shitty now. their last home game was almost suspended because of a bombthreat by dissappointed fans.
