He came to Liverpool as a big talent from dinamo zagreb hes been voted worst player in the premiership he looks sleepy and uninterested yet he is still at liverpool-rafa has been saying good things about him lately one thing is he was always a midfielder(defensive with occasional bursts forward when he was at dinamo zagreb) houllier putting him in the back 4 was one of his many stupid experiments he was recalled into the croatia national team last year but left when he found out he wouldnt be in the starting 11 the croatian fed president told the coach not to call him at all for the new qualifying campaign igor is a character and the quote that stands out about himself is when he initially arrived at liverpool the croatian media asked him why are you always on the bench igor said im a ferrari parked in a garage ever since this comment he has no contact with the media so what are your thoughts on him so far in preseason and he showed some flashes last season in a couple of games im interested to see how he does against roma and porto but im curious what liverpool fans think thanks
I would like to see Biscan given more of a go in the first team, perhaps replacing Hamman as the defensive midfielder. His time at Anfield is almost up I reckon, especially if he doesn't break through this season. Biscan is one of many who needs to step up to the plate and perform better this year, not just for his own sake but the team also.
never liked him... as midfielder he was too slow and conceded too much possession... as defender he was even worst he gave away too many penalties. but i'll give him 1 more chance to prove himself much as rafa is giving him.
He was impressive against a very poor Celtic, so time will tell. For the beginning of the season I don't see Biscan in the starting XI anyway. Hamann and Gerrard will be. But as cover for them and with his improved form he will be a valuable squad member. Just don't play him at centre half again. With Champs League, League, FA Cup and League Cup he'll get his chances. It's up to him to prove the skeptics wrong. He's made a decent impression so far .... to early to judge.
My guess is that he won't need to be played in central defense, with the signing of Josemi and Carra playing more center half with Finnan and Riise hopefully regaining their form. And as much as I'd like to see a long term replacement for Hamman, I wouldn't be too upset as long as Diao and Biscan provide adequate cover in the defensive midfield role. But of course, we'll have a better idea when matches start to matter.
Well I hope he gets a run of games to prove he can cut it for us in centre-mid - it was the position we initially bought him for in the first place. To me, Igor has been a scapegoat for many fans - yes he did make make mistakes when he played centreback - tho he also did very well there in other games too, as it isn't his natural position what else could we expect? Can anyone say he has hasn't given 100% (even he does have a bed-head. lol) He does give his all for this club, GH spoke very highly of him as a pro, fans rate him too when they meet him 1-on-1 and in all his time here has made certain other players look like right fools for their off-field behaviour. Hopefully he'll play his way into the 1st eleven and stay there - there's not many at LFC who deserve the chance more. With Rafa maybe looking to cull the squad and free up some money Biscan doing well could well see Diao and Hamman's careers in the balance, esp as Hamman (a player I rate very highly) is still worth a bob or two, and coveted by the top German clubs...
I thought he was pretty bad as a defender (remember that match when Thommo wouldn't even look him in the eyes when he was subbed out after giving away two goals?), and don't really know him as a midfielder that well, so who can tell?? He certainly has taken alot of stick, but what has he done to prove he doesn't deserve it?? I think he'll get some time to show Rafa otherwise, but if he doesn't do it pretty quickly then he doesn't have a future here.
well i like Big Igor! hes never been given a chance , and peopel judge his playing performance by his shabby hair and uninterested facial expression! i hope he gets a chance to prove himself next season, but not centre back, that was NOT why he was signed!
The most recent addition of "Four Four Two" had the fans vote on certain awards for last season. Igor Biscan was voted worse player in the the Premiership. With that said, I think everyone deserves a fair chance with the new manager. Houllier liked to play everyone out of position. Igor has done well in preseason playing in the midfield. He isn't a defender because he makes way too many mistakes. Defensive midfielders play a very important role in Rafa's formation. Didi and Gerrard are still first choice in the center of the midfield, but Igor might have a role to play. Last year I thought he was a terrible player, but I willing to give him another chance under the new manager.
i thought that was a bit harsh, with emile heskey being an option sorry, just had to get that in. i did actually like emile, just didnt rate him very highly as a player although he was another played out of position!
