good article by whomever wrote it. The stuff about Cunningham and Mais is just what I was thinking on Opening Day; JC was trying to be a "leader" by yelling at others and trying to work hard, but no one seems to want to listen to him.
This also sounds like it was written by someone who covers the Gals, so it kind of confirms a lot of what we're thinking from someone who is neither a shill for the club nor a BS troll. It comes across as observant and well-reasoned.
If you watched the end of the game, you could sense what the locker room was going to be like. Our guys looked like a deer in headlights.....stunned, disgusted, visibly upset, etc. We need someone to step up and lead this team. Someone that can lead not only by their actions but their words too. I don't think we have that right now.
I am really surprised that Burgess has been this kind concerning the current situation for so long, although there were hints near the end of the match that he may have reached his limit.
I don't know, he talked an awful lot about "gelling". I was really surprised how he toed the party line.
I suppose Andrulis is likable. He's just likable to the other 90% of the league. And that s**t between cunny and maize. We need a guy who'd bench those two f'ers. Ya can't practice? Then sit yer bloomin' arse on the bench!
ERRRRRR re-readed.... Sounded like Maise was going at Cunny. Either way, sounds like someone needs to calm down and get re-focused.
Pathetic leadership by Jello. But I'm not pissed at him, he's doing what anyone else would do. I'm pissed at Jim Smith for not making the move. So he needs to go too. Sack Andrulis, Hire Ranieri
Mais was pissed because someone actually was playing hard in practice. Perhaps he was worried is 83 year old body couldn't take it.
Have you been intentionally fouled (yellow-card deserving) by a teammate in training? I was once in HS and the coach was pissed. Sent us all home. When I was a freshman the varsity coach actually left practice because he wasn't happy with the effort and intensity the varsity players put forth. Said he was wasting his time, and they were too and should go home. The captains ran the rest of practice. This team is very lacking in leadership, and I think the blame rests at the top.
Surely everyone can agree that Andrulis needs to go, but to make a huge deal out of an outburst in practice, I'm just not so sure it's that epic a deal. I guess maybe I shouldn't mention that I've heard there is no practice tommorow.
As a die hard fan who come a couple days before game day actually feels optimistic and thinks this could be the day it all turns around....that is the most depressing thing I have ever read concerning this club. (great article) I know Cunningham aint the most popular cat on the team but it was refreshing to hear someone on this club still gives a damn and is talking in practice and pushing the team. The description of our training session comes as no surprise at all when you look at the way we play compared to toher teams in the league. As a fan there not much you can do but if someone on this team still gives a ******** then so do I. Saturday I will be standing behind the fear jeff cunningham banner supporting Jeff and the team louder then ever.
I totally agree. Cunningham is a bit of a bastard but it is great to see that he will continue to carry on even when others don't.
I'm not so sure that I want to make Cunny a poster boy for anything. But as I've said many times, he did have a hell of a game on Saturday night, and was the only one who ever looked dangerous from open play. I'll also go out on a limb and say that Buddle just isn't match fit yet. Made very little in the way of runs off the ball, created very little space for Cunny, and overall looked slow and lethargic. What type of message does this send to new boys Testo and Scott? That despite your best efforts we're going to play someone who isn't fit having just come off a long layoff? It's like trying to fit the proverbial square peg in the round hole. Make no mistake, I still believe that Buddle is a player of immense quality, but can we really expect a whole lot out of him when he's thrown into the lineup only after one scrimmage? Of course the next two games are going to be poor. He should've started on the bench and been intergrated back into the side.
I'd like to e-mail someone at the Crew organization this article to ask for an explanation. Any ideas?
