During today's press conference at the Pinetina training center, Inter's creative Alvaro Recoba released a pretty shocking statement.

The Uruguayan forward said that in case the Nerazzurri won't win any competition he could leave the club at the end of the season, although he also added that "we can and we have to win something"

"I joined Inter six years ago - Recoba said- and during this span we only won the Uefa Cup, but in that period I played every two or three months and therefore I don't feel this victory as entirely mine".

Recently, Manchester United and Barcelona have shown an interest in the South American star.

And, depending on the summer developments, of course, remind me exactly how many non-EU players Barca has under contract now? At least three, right? Aren't they limited to four or does the Karpin ruling mean those restrictions are out the window?

JRR, Rochemback (likely to go in the summer), Saviola (hopefully his application to obtain the spanish citizen is advanced) and Geovanni (loaned out to Benfica and an extension or even a transfer is more than inminent)

Karpin ruling? did I miss something?

I just posted a very similar queston in another thread. We're sharing some karma here Tony (isn't that special?) ;)
But I thought the limits were going to get lower.

Mario- the Spanish Supreme Court over-ruled the the lower Spanish courts awhile back regarding Karpin's EU Status. I don't know if you remember the story or not (http://www.uefa.com/footballcentral/News/Kind=2/newsId=34463.html). Maybe you should ask Valery if he needs your legal assistance. heh heh

To me, Recoba is at least as skilled as any player on the planet. LA Galaxy could use him in the middle.

You think Puyol would ever forgive Recoba for stomping on him if he were ever to come to Barça?

gee! good point OR!!! I didnt remember that! as well as that Karpin story that was an isolated incident, no further effects came from that case to affect the RFEF ruling (at least that Im aware of)
