Considering the position the black cats are in at this point in the season, should they fail to retain their premiership safety, undoubtedly Reyna would be on the chopping block to reduce the wage bill, but where would he go?

I'd imagine he'd like to stay in the English Premiere league but who knows what kinda contracts and money may be offered from elsewhere..
It is really hard to guess. Look for a team in England either already in the top flight or on their way next season that is a little weak in his position.

How old is Reyna now? Will he eventually come play in the MLS?

Reyna is 29. He'll be 30 in July.

Reyna has to come back from his knee injury first and then we have to assume that he has a relegation clause in his contract. I've heard nothing about it.

We may have to think of the possibility that if Sunderland are relegated...

    Claudio could go....

    to Division 1.

    (It's possible)

when healthy, he was one of the best Central Mids in the EPL. Heck, I would imagine that either Leeds or Newcastle (teams with good offense and below avg defenses) would have tried to get him.

his wage would be too much of a burden to a div. 1 club w/out the prem. $

I thought was had a great defence. Its Midfield where Leeds' problem is. We do have the best centreback in the league with Woodgate.

saying that, i wouldn't mind if Reyna came if we haven't gotten anyone better by the time he's fit.

You sold the best centre back in the league to Man Ure...still disappointed about that one I must say...and then sold Keano (to fcking Spurs! WTF?) and Bowyer, but kept Fowler! Tel is going to get you guys the drop...at least he hasn't sold Kewell for a pack of crisps, a cuban, and a few pints of a still to be determined ale.

I think I would like to see Reyna with one of the more fashionable sides in the Prem, although I'm not sure if he would compliment their playing style and vice versa....but Reyna at Chelsea wouldn't be to bad a fit, but I'd love to see what he can do at Everton or Southampton even.

And even then he would be playing a level of football that is 10 times greater than MSL.

    (It's True)

do you think Reyna has failed to help Sunderland to move up on the table? he has to be able to avoid any contact that might hurt him ( avoiding dangerous encounter is one of skills in soccer or any sport)

Boro have the best defence in the Premier League and that is a fact so i think its obvious Southgate and Ehiogu are better

I could see Reyna in a black and white strip....

...and Woodgate on the Toon as well.

it is also is a FACT that the so-called best defence in the Premier League sits in the bottom half of the table.

One of the reasons Reyna was bought by the unmentionables was due to their tumble in the table. Reyna helped them avoid relegation this year, and likely would have them near the middle of the pack now had he not been hurt.

10 times?...really? I think its more like 100 times, or maybe one gazillion times better.

I think the UN should look into forcing America to rename MSL, Division 2.

Hey I think someone who knows so little about our league that he doesn't even know its name probably has NO IDEA about the level of play in our league.

I watch alot of games from both sides of the pond (Both MSL and the PLE) and I think most of our teams would hold there own quite well in the PLE's so-called First Division.

    Oh and also... GET BENT!

I would like to see Claudio come back home, but if he wants to stay in Europe I woul like to see him maybe go to Man City or Everton and team up with fellow Yank Brian McBride,WOW can you imagine if he did go to Newcastle Utd. it would kill the Black Cats fans almost as bad as Sol Campbell leaving Spurs for Arsenal.

I don't think CR would go to Newcastle as they play a very flowing brand of football, and CR would put a kink in that. He would also have to play a more defensive role, probably a defensive midfielder, which I'm sure he would not be the happiest to do. But he has alsways done what is needed...

as for the MSL/MLS comment, I think that may be a refenence to Martin Taylor's comment during the Spurs v. DC United match in which he called Major League Soccer, MSL several times in the first half.

Darren or Marcus? Both are quite good.

I would say MLS is about as good as the midtable div.1 and the upper bit of div.2

I've been to many MLS matches and Nationwide matches so i think that i have a right to say that.

I would like to see Claudio go play in either Spain or Italy. I think he might make it possible for more Americans to go play in those leagues.

I don't know about mid table div.1, I think it's probably even with Div.1. I think people mistake pace of the game with quality, and MLS has a slower pace.
