Vinicius has insane acceleration but his top speed isn't THAT great. Valverde and his long legs is pretty much the opposite.
Such class and humbleness. “I struggled coming back, I accept it and I’m my first critic. I didn’t do the things a Real Madrid player is supposed to do,” said Fede about his form after the Coronavirus pandemic. https://www.managingmadrid.com/plat...47/fede-valverde-real-madrid-beis-2020-quotes
I’m not sure what he means here but it does seem like he had some off the field issues or he could mean on field but it’s hard to say. .@fedeevalverde: "It was hard for me to get back into the team, you have to accept it and be self-critical. I didn't do things the way a professional Real Madrid player would do."#RealBetisRealMadrid pic.twitter.com/1AWc1Hv5ut— Infinite Madrid (@InfiniteMadrid) September 27, 2020
Could be, as I said It’s hard to tell if he was talking about on the field standards of Madrid or off it but given he’s used the word “professional” I think it makes more sense that he’s talking about off it.
It was clear he lost form by February and he further dipped during the lockdown. He didn't look fit at all during the 11 game stretch. I'm glad he got his head screwed on as he looked great yesterday.
I really like the guy but I think he could have helped out more on the Betis goal where Carvalho beats Odegaard to score? I think that's a reason Odegaard got pulled too - it looked like they knew he can't defend Carvalho who sussed it out pretty quick and made a number of dangerous runs into the box On the goal it’s a bit sad to see odegaard trying to catch up to carvalho - not enough pace or power (he’s still a kid I know). Valverde was spare - in a perfect world he would maybe have moved across to cover carvalho and left odegaard spare.
Odegaard was on the inside and goal side. It was much easier for him to track the run but he reacted late. Fede probably should have tracked back as well. Bad defending from both. Probably bad communication.
Of course Odegaard was closer. He is also the AM and should be tracking the opponents DM in that system. It was his man and he failed. But in an ideal world Valverde should know there’s a physical mismatch in that area, know that he’s the spare man marking no-one, and he should maybe move inside to cover.
That is a strange comment but then again we now know the manager doesn't choose players based on how hard they train or how well they play - so who knows what you have to do to get into a Zidane team.
No only you know this, the rest of us don't have your , what seem to be very reliable, sources at Valdebebas, so whatever we say on this matter would just be speculations
Great goal versus Barcelona in el Classico. The boy has become a fan favourite. Thanks Penarol. Uruguay really producess top footballing talent given its small population.
Portugal is a small country as well, but consistently bring out the talent. It has to do with tradition and culture as much as anything else. It's like with the former Yugoslavian countries in basketball. They are tiny but somehow come up with world class players.
He's injured. I think we're properly ********ed without him. Does anyone know how long is his projected recovery?
Following tests carried out on our player, Federico Valverde, by Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a fracture in the posterior tibial bone in his right leg. His recovery will continue to be assessed. https://www.realmadrid.com/en/news/...agram&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=organico Gotta hope Odegaard can stay fit. ********in hell.
🚨 Fede Valverde suffers a small shin fracture during Real Madrid's 4-1 loss to Valencia. He is expected to be out for a month, at least.
