I like the name Empire SC. It's got a great ring to it. Did you come up with this name NYR, or has this been a long standing idea?

The only problem with Empire SC is that we'll soon be playing in Harrison, NJ which isn't exactly the Empire state.

Perfect. I'm sure Garber would think that this is right up there with ReAL Salt Lake City.

What's the purpose of naming them Metros. It's not like they aren't refered to as the Metros.

Why waste your time with wanting to rename this team?

Its the Players on the field who have to be renamed.

NY/NJ MetroStars was, is, and always will be fine with me.

The problem with this team are the players on it.

We maybe need a couple veteran players to teach the youngsters how to play the game, and sustain longevity into the Fall.

This team for the past 4 years has fumbled in Sept. and October.
Blown First Place leads. Blown Playoff games.

All other 9 MLS teams have gone to the MLS Final except the Metros.

Bob Bradley deserves one more year, it will be his third, I believe.

But a few better players (a couple from abroad in europe) would most likely be the ideal solution for this team's success.

P.S. Real Salt Lake sounds so corny. We are in the USA, not Spain. Give me a break. I do not think that is going to work.

I emphasized the "was" since the team hasn't been called NY/NJ MetroStars since 1997.

When I tell non MLS soccer fans that I follow the Metrostars..... the first thing people laugh at is the fact that I follow AMerican soccer. Then they ask me if the Metrostars are still a complete joke. When I tell them not anymore, then they began to make fun of the name of the team.

Is this similiar to your experiences?

I never get to that point in the convo...they usually stop listening after I tell them the first part.
