🇭🇷👏 @lukamodric10 has racked up 200 wins in a @RealMadrid shirt... and he's scored many GOLAZOS along the way! #HalaMadrid pic.twitter.com/PrbXXjVWn7— Real Madrid C.F. 🇬🇧🇺🇸 (@realmadriden) March 18, 2019
That little man is casting a very big shadow. Everyone is gonna miss him when he hanging up his boots.
He’s the best midfielder ever for Real Madrid, not in terms of talent, we had more talented ones ( our current coach being one of them) but when we talk about the entire package then I think he deserves that title.
If Modric wouldn't be such a quiet dude, he would be a world star far beyond many players, but he seems like he'snotinto that lifestyle that much.
Former Real Madrid coach Antic: “Since when is Modric the best passer in the world, if he hardly makes assists? I can't even say what it means to see him win the Ballon d'Or trophy as the best player in the world. It doesn't make sense, as he doesn't make assists or score goals.”
Such statement would make sense from someone who hasn't watched more than 5 football matches in his life. Speaks a lot why he could coach the three best teams in Spain but could not achieve anything special.
Antic is Serbian so he hates Modric because hes Croat. Anyway Modric is dead in the water this season.
Souness said a similar thing. That was when I knew his footballing knowledge resided entirely in his late-lamented moustache.
Probably a reactionary question, but are these types of injury what we should expect from Modric going forward? That is not to say he won't play, but he will probably pick up minor muscular injuries with more frequency given his age. Barring a stellar year, this should probably be his last year in the Bernabeu.
Great opportunity for James and Isco. And let's be honest Modric is too old to be playing every game anymore. We need to incorporate a younger player into his position on a full time basis moving forward. James definitely fits. Sometimes I wonder if these are even injuries or these decisions are take together to avoid controversy (playing James > Modric). Maybe Modric is more willing to take a bench seat for a player he knows and trusts (James, Isco) rather than a stranger (Pogba, Van de Beek) and an injury creates an opening for them without allowing the media being able to make it into a story.
That’s what I’m wondering as well. We’re thin in midfield as is but so far we’ve had 3 injuries there. Pretty much, this is why I believe he needs to retire from international football and focus on club football if he wants to remain here, he’s at that age he cant really handle this much traveling and playing.
I think there are more chances of Lucas replacing Modric than James. I'd consider putting Marcelo as a LMF, has Kroos ever played on the right side of the mf?
Se lesionó con Croacia, no ha vuelto a jugar desde entonces y lo convocan de nuevo. Genial https://t.co/brCMwHfVpL— Carvacrack (@Carvacrack_) September 23, 2019 Modric got hurt with Croatia and hasn’t played since, yet they call him up for international duty in October. Wonderful
He's pretty much won everything at club level, so probably wants to win one with the NT before he hangs it up.
Don’t get me wrong I get the motivation but still, he is a 34 year old midfielder who is playing at the biggest club in we could potentially be in 3 competitions all year then add Nt duties on top of that, I don’t know.
