Could anyone tell me about this Hamilton team (Thunder) from the CPSL, I think. A compatriot of mine (David Moya) recently signed with them. Is this an indoor team/outdoor? Are they the league's best team? A lot of support??? Salary ranges per year? Any famous players (whether Canandian or foreigners) play either in the team or the league/???

    Bye

    Thanks in Advance!

They play in the CPSL. Most teams only average 50-250 fans a game. However, some teams average more (only a handful of teams). For more info on the CPSL you can check out www.cpsl.ca or www.hamiltonthunder.ca

Not sure how much players from the Hamilton Thunder make, but I know players from the Ottawa Wizards make $250-500 a week. I also don't know if the team has any famous players or not, but they did sign a few foreign players this year.

Hamilton had a preseason tour of Bermuda this past month. Later this summer they are supposed to play Hadjuk Split (Croatia) and W-Connection (T&T).

Oh yeah the team is an outdoor team.

Are any of those players of MLS or A-League calibre by any chance?

I wouldn't say MLS, but a few are good enough for the A-League. I know one player, Budalic is now playing in Sweden. He played in the CPSL in 2001 (I believe).

Ottawa has a few players who could play in the A-League. In the past years a few CPSL players have made the jump to the A-League. Richard Goddard played with Ottawa in 2001, and last year he was the starting keeper with Charlotte. Francois played with Ottawa last year, and now he is with the Montreal Impact.

It is hard to compare, but I think the CPSL is on the same level with the PDL.

Laval Dynamite lost to New England 3-1 a few years ago. The Revolution used the game as a warm up for their match against LA in the US Open Cup final.
