I guess if it was played on paper it would get chopped up pretty bad with all of those blades going over the top. I've watched some of the hockey, but it's not as good as when they have it in Europe as the rinks are the smaller North American sized rinks which lead to a more restricted game. However, the passion is evident and it's still fun to watch. I love how some morons out there are going overboard and equating this to the Lake Placid win - get a grip chumps, it's not in the same class. I look forward to now cheering on the Swiss in the QF match
I can't believe how poor Pronger, Niedermayer and Brodeur were. It's one thing if Pronger and Niedermayer were just getting burned by the younger, faster US skaters, but to be losing battles along the boards and then making the awful decisions with the puck that they have...that's simply unacceptable for players of their pedigree. And Brodeur...what a 'wtf?' game from him. Batting practice and foolhardy diving pokechecks are not going to win you hockey games. Meanwhile 20 year old Drew Doughty was easily our best defenseman, and up front 21 year old Toews is outshining the likes of Thornton. Credit to the US though. Miller is a machine, and Kesler really embodied their tenacity with the dive to score the last goal (how iconic would that have been in a KO or gold medal game?).
Miller was insane though. Felt like watching Sabres Leafs game all over again. Apart from some poor/disappointing displays from some players it could have gone the other way though if it wasn't for that bum Miller. Kesler may have scored a nice goal, but what was Perry thinking? He was just strolling to the puck thinking he could casually get to it and pass/clear it.
But that's the thing. The score doesn't lie. It's a team game. The US thumped Canada. I don't care what the stats say, 5-3 is 5-3.
That because at the time, she had no idea her pic would be all over the internets labeling her as a whale into public urination.
Dated? That's ME! I've been meaning to email you. With the spring/summer upon us. We need to pick a weekend to get together.
It actually reminded me of the USA-Canada match. Hiller was incredible. At one point the US led in shots like 40-8.
Taxi for Eddie Hitler... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTHxY2KmEiA"]YouTube- Richard Richard and Eddie Hitler, Trick or Treat, Bottom![/ame]
I don't watch nearly the amount of hockey that I do soccer...but today was fantastic, loved every minute
No sir. I don't think I've ever seen an Ice Dogs(now known as St. Michaels Majors apparently) game, not even on TV. I do watch the Leafs from time to time because my brother is a big fan(he watches Chelsea in turn ).
Can't wait for the game on Sunday - should be a cracking way to close out the olympics. Also good to see Canada overtake the US in the only medals table that counts, gold. I mean who the feck remembers the runners up, I hate that total medals table (GOLD>>>>bronze fools). I'm willing to bet a pound to a penny that an athlete with 2 silvers would trade both for a single gold. End rant ::waits for Cris to wade in and point out that in the real medals table, Germany are in fact, top:: EDIT, sorry Cris I see that Canada now jump to 10 golds. Ohhhh Ca-na-da........
Slovakia almost pulled it off. I take my hat off to that team. So much heart and determination. Russia can learn, bunch of lazy ********s.
I'll take an order of pancakes with some Canadian maple syrup along with some bacon...Canadian bacon. Oh yeah, I forgot...and Canada's healthcare sucks!
Two things: 1. Jonas Jerebko is turning into a beast for the Pistons. 2. Very happy that Avatar didn't win Best Film. Very happy that Christoph Waltz won an Oscar.
