yeah luckily for me I see him all the time living down here, he is phenomenally, defensively, on the basepaths and at the plate and is still just 29(not that old for baseball).

the top 7 lineup potentially would be:

    Ellsbury
    Pedroia
    Crawford
    Youkilis
    Ortiz
    Beltre
    Drew

Lots of Runs, decent power, tons of speed.

What do I expect to end up with? much worse

A big concern is that with losing Martinez, TPTB might think Werth is the way to go, being a morre power bat type player, but I prefer Crawford, even if Werth has a solid beard. Honestly I wish we'd dump JD and get both, but thats a video game dream. The interesting thing to see this season, is how soon we get involved in the Adrian Gonzalez and Prince Fielder trade sweepstakes.

Werth wouldn't be a good fit - I agree with you that he would be a nono. Think he's looking for No. 3 money and isn't that type of anchor in a line-up. I love Crawford though.

But hey, why have Crawford when you can have Uribe for 3 years? Gooooooo Blue

    F*** the McCourts!!

PS I actually quite like Uribe but I think he'll be the largest signing we'll make for a team that needs major work and will likely lose Russel Martin who is more important to the Dodgers than his stats would indicate :(

Yeah Pitt didn't work for that weekend (or the whole season for that matter). Too many other things going on in the Batcho house.

I did pick up a good book though, "Death to the BCS". So far, it's AWESOME.

Hey, I meant to ask; how is your dog doing?

Sadly, we made the decision today to put Lacey down next Thrusday...

I cried when Lisa called Dr Dan, our vet.

    Damn buddy. That sucks.

Dante is ok, I guess. He has trouble walking backwards now. He won't "sit" in the traditional sense, he puts his butt down and rests on the side of his butt. He did start jogging a bit this week and scratching with his right leg (the one that had surgery the last time).

Condolences. My vet once told me (when I asked about Dante's life expectancy) that I get a new dog within a week of the time. She said otherwise I am more likely to never get one again.

Thanks, we are looking into a new pup...We really need to pass on our affection to another "baby" if we want to keep our sanity after this. As you know, we have no kids and having Lacey brought so much to our lives.

Lisa suggested the name "Chelsea'...I loved it. "Borussia Dortmund" would just be waaaaaay to criminal to the dog and anyone else that had to call her over.

Enjoy Dante, and give him a treat for me. ;)

    Thanks,

It's got to be a golden. I love that breed. I also love "big" dogs. Lacey weighed up to 110 lbs about a year ago.

I miss having my greyhound. Big lazy dog who didn't need much exercise. I'd get another dog but I don't have the time or money to take care of a pet at the moment.

A friend of mine has a Boston Terrier, that dog is actually one of the most energetic and hilarious dogs I've seen. Barked at me with a tennis ball in her mouth, ran around his yard and swam for six hours straight and was still barking after that.

    Anyone play "hattrick"

highly recommended soccer online manager. For the nerdy types, you basically get to be owner/manager and start from scratch.

Holy crap today was ridiculous. First I can't even believe that the Phillies are the #1 team in Philadelphia. Never in my life thought I'd live to see that. The Eagles, while not an afterthought by any means, are not THE team in Philadelphia like they were my entire life.

    Halladay
    Lee
    Oswalt
    Hamels

Holy crap. It's just ridiculous. Think about it this way, last year Halladay and Lee combined for over 400 K's and less than 40 BB's. I mean...holy crap. We still have a season to play and I think the Phillies are really going to struggle to score but man 3-4 runs might be all the need most nights.

The Philadelphia Yankee Sox have arrived.
