Apologies if already covered here (I've been abroad for several weeks)...

...But multiple Euro-based reports claim Ian Joy is actively seeking a quick return back to das Vaterland. Is my rough German->English translation of this accurate?...

Joy has already spoken to 4 interested clubs in the 2nd & 3rd Divisions, but is waiting to the end of the year to decide. Says Joy, "The year in the United States was great, but I'm missing Germany very much."

Re: Ian Joy back to Germany?

This didnt have its own thread so it is a good place to start.
Like many have said on here, it will be a sad person to say bye to, but we have the personnel (fingers crossed) to back him up. That being Russell and Beltran.
However losing our only left footed player on the back line is going to be rough

jumping out of a contract to take care of your daughter just to resign with another team the following week makes sense too...

Sounds a lot like Boozer, only he didn't have a daughter with cancer.

Boozer sucks. The only good thing about him is his name.

for real, the jazz will get worse when he comes back..
this thread is heading way off topic, but oh well. The jazz need an actual big man if they want to make a run for the title

I knew this one was coming. That is why I always said "Dont' protect Joy, he is going back to Germany to be near his kid."

I would trade Boozer in a heart beat!

I hope that RSL does not lose Ian Joy but that far away from family it is understandable that he would want to be closer to them.

He has been a great asset for RSL and will be missed.

Wouldn't it be Der Vaterland? It's been a long time since I took any German, though, so I could be mistaken.

I'm sure Boozer would like to help but it might be a little dangerous. He might pull or strain his elbow or something.

Only in the genetive form like in aus der Vaterland, but hey, der Vaterland sounds better.

In our meeting last night, Davy and Brent seemed quite optimistic about the prospect of Ian sticking around. I don't doubt that he is being courted however.

There is some discussion about Ian going on in this Dusseldorf fan forum for any of our German speakers.

Interesting. Here is a link to the website. It looks like fans will vote on which players they attempt to recruit. Here is an article about it.
