I wouldn't be sorry to see those retro jerseys become the official ones.

    Seriously. They were cool.

Though they had a red stripe in 1950. If not, my National Soccer Hall of Fame poster is lying to me.

They didn't look too bad. I'm beginning to get a little sick of the 'Cool Motion' kits for all teams. I'm ready for another red jersey, without all of the current triangle crap. Agreed though, it is time for a change.

    I agree.

Great looking jersey. Not the typical Nike cookie cutter jersey that 10 other countries are wearing.

What are the odds that we would keep these?

    1 in 500,000?

I think they're better than our regular ones. never been a fan of our world cup uni's. but these aren't too bad -- not great, but definitely an improvement.
Just make one in red and i'll be happy.

    Retro Jersey

I too thought they looked nice. I would prefer a red sash with blue collar and cuffs. The other jersey could be red with a white sash. I liked the larger badge as well.

Any chance of the US Womens team wearing sashes?

I didn't think they were that nice. I prefer our regular uniforms to the retro ones.

I agree the retro kits looked pretty cool. Maybe Nike can make some "cool motion" kits with the retro look?

I thought they looked great as well. With a little bit of history behind them, these could be a way to establish one "traditional jersey" that people see and instantly know it's the USMNT.

i think the USSF still has contract with NIKE, we can't go back anytime soon to the red original jersey

How would that affect what colors could be used?

I would totally like to see this become our new kit running up to Germany. The current Navy kit from Nike is fine w/ me as the alternate.

Id rather avoid the red jersey, but working more red into it wouldnt be a bad idea. I think it would look kind of cool with a red, white and blue center slash, with the white being in the center above the red and below the blue.

Not bad, anything is better then the pathetic "cookie cutters" we have been stuck with for the last few years. Personally I'd like a red jersey with white sash.

When I turned on the tube, I forgot the U.S. were wearing retro jerseys today and was wondering who the teams were. Also confusing because aren't NZ known as the All-Whites?

Now that I think about it someone mentioned a sash. IMO some sweet jerseys would be one jersey w/ white background and a red, white, and blue sash coming down from one shoulder to the hip. To see an example look at River Plate's style. The other would be a navy background w/ the sash also.

I thought NZ were the All-Black's - or is that just for rugby?

Black and white and red all over ...

New Zealand's rugby team is the All-Blacks ... so I am guessing that the soccer team is called the All-Whites for contrast ....

Correct. The NZ Rugby team is the All-Blacks, their National Over-40 Rugby Team, however, is the All-Grays.

The basketball team, for those who didn't see them at last year's World Championships, are called the Tall Blacks.

Back to the retros: part of what's would make it easier for Nike to sell to many fans would be the fact that they don't make fat guys look quite as fat as the ones we wore in J/K do. Gotta think of your over-45 fans, too, you know ;)

Good idea. I know my Celtic kit is not at all flattering. Hoops do not have a slimming effect. :)

The originals did have a red stripe. They were clear on the broadcast that this was not a replica, but a retro.

The jerseys are still way cool.

I liked the jerseys, but can't bring myself to fork over 75 bucks for one. Where's that counterfeiter on eBay?

    The USA should stick with.....

the Navy Blue Nike jersey from 1995. That is best USA jersey ever and that should be our tradition.
