It's the third time I read about Capello going out of Roma this season, but it could be a safe bet to sign him eventhough he's a declared 'madridista'???

I mean Im pretty sure he's a professional but I bet my @$$ I even saw him in the testimonial for the Centenario

Pero no todo está dicho. La sorpresa podría darla el Barcelona, que busca un entrenador y podría intentar repatriar a Capello a suelo español.

Well, according to Phil Ball our own Radi Antic is still a card carrying member of Atletico Madrid so how could it get any worse?!

You know Capello as well as anyone from following Serie A-- I think his ego would be a bigger problem than any feelings he has for Real Madrid. How is that line of personal cologne going for him, I wonder? :)

But the fact is the guy can coach. He's coached the Scudetto winner for two different clubs (including Roma's one and only title), he's coach a side that won the European Cup, and he's won La Liga with RM. I think his recent slump at Roma says more about the personnel upgrades of his competitors (AC Milan, Inter) than his tactics.

And if they're going to look for a coach in Rome, they should think about trying to pull Mancini out of Lazio too. He seems to have the magic touch, especially when you consider that his players aren't even getting paid!

If I were on the Barca board, I would try to get Cuper. Now, he's doing well at Inter, but Italian football being what it is, the hell he will catch if they should fall short..ok maybe those are knocks-he can't win the big ones . But I still send out a trial ballon just in case.

BUT, look at where Inter was two years ago? Very similar to Barca; big names, small results. And of course he is familiar with La Liga.

Now people at Camp Nou may not like his brand of play, but for me, if I have to bring in one guy to bring order and reverse a loser mentality, I bring Hector Cuper (and yes, Capello would be a good choice as well). When they hired him at Inter, I knew Inter would not be a joke anymore. And what more could you ask for at Barca these days... :)

Spot on, Ray. But I don't think Inter is going to let him slip away now. They realize they're very close to being where they've wanted to be all these years. In the early 90's it might have been the manager who got the door instead of a player like Ronaldo, but those days are gone. Cuper's teams are well organized and he doesn't sweat when a couple results don't go his way. Moratti tends to do all the shouting at the media for him.

Barcelona needed to try harder to nab him when he was ready to bolt Valencia, IMHO. But Gaspart always wanted to do things unconventionally.
