i can still get 2 free tix to mls cup final, but of course, the free parking passes are sold out. i wonder if those things really exist. probably just a marketing ploy. anyway, they shouldn't be holding their breath waiting for a lot of early renewals.
I got called yesterday........told him I needed some separation from the season before I could give them more money....
I've got a tape of DeNiro's movie theatre laugh from "Cape Fear" cued-up next to my phone waiting for my ticket rep to call about the renewal. My favorite part of the "invoice" was the deadline date of the end of next month. Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha! That old gag...
this are preprinted forms to be used forever , just think of the days when we will have our own smaller stadium and there will be 20 000 season tickets holders, you won't be laughing then, so please keep an open mind and get your tickets now , i would even buy extras just in case. ....oups sorry MrModerator just realized the rules here do not allow fantasies
I had to laugh when I opened the envelope. I was thinking "Who the hell are they kidding?!" I almost pi$$ed my pants when I saw that 2003 parking pass was sold out! I want to ask my ticket rep if Giants stadium is planning on adding more seats to further obscure my former first row seat. Who else can't stand those extra seats (especially on corner kicks) ?!
Yeah...actually I have no complaints about the ticket guys this year. I used the "ticket exchange by mail" thing with no problem, and when I didn't pick up my free hat & media guide, they FedEx'd it to me. It's a pity these guys have such a crap product to peddle. I can't imagine a job with less promise for success than an MLS ticket guy in this market.
My ticket guy was pretty good this year too - really helped me out a lot - but unfortunately, is no longer with the team. I hope he got a better paying job somewhere.
Still waiting for my hat and media guide, but whatever. Like I'd want to wear it/read it at this point anyway. My problem with the MFO guys is that I called for tickets and had problems. I called for tickets to the Jamaica game and had problems. I called for my free shirt and had problems. Everytime I call them, it's another "Well get back to you" followed by no one getting back to me. Yes, I can renew now at less money than it might cost next year, but we could also be playing in Newark next year for all I know.
Also if you're an ESC member and plan to sit in 101(or terraces in Newark), wait till the ESC negotiates a new deal with the team. It not only helps the ESC get more leverage but it also lets you cash in on the prizes or goodies they may provide us. Last year it was a free away jersey so who knows what you may miss out on.
what a shock, I haven't gotten anything from the metros regarding Metromemberships. in fact, I'm still waiting for my hat and media guide!!!! I wouldn't have my Jersey if I didn't find the Metro guy handing them out from the back of his Honda (though it wan announced that a Metrovan would have the jerseys)!!! Teamsters work harder than the ticket reps....
Just to be clear, I asked them to mail it...I'm pretty sure it was something that you were supposed to pick up at a certain game. If you didn't ask them to mail it to you, I don't think they intended to just mail them out. With all the trading and moves early this season, the Metro media guide had a shelf life slightly longer than a TV Guide.
My Renewal Invoice showed a $79 "payment received". I did not authorize any payments. Did any one else see the same thing on their invoice? If MFO hit my credit card without my authorization they will be sorry. Class action anyone?
for the record, i never had a problem with my ticket rep either. stephanie toomer. what a great lady!
I was at a game early in the season, can't remember which one, and they mentioned they were handing them out after the game at gate D. So after the game ends I go to gate D, and the line is already into the parking lot because there are 2 guys with laptops trying to allocate the handouts to the 500 people in line. I waited in line for 25 minutes, at which point a MFO person comes walking down and says if you don't want to wait in line, they'll mail it to you. Since I'd moved about 10 feet in 25 minutes, I left assuming they'd mail it. I never followed up with them, and that is my fault, but then again, did I really need to? I'm not trying to slander them, and I don't doubt that they would have sent it had I called them, it's just another example of how the effort is placed on the fans to make sure they do their job correctly. I don't care if they don't give anything away, but don't call it a give away and then make the fans track you down for it. I'll cop to being lazy, but they are annoying.
Exactly. Kind of like those dinner time sales calls that start out, "Mr Footix! Congratulations! We are going to send you a free cell phone!". I love to tell them to just send me the free phone, I don't want any service with it. Like your hat & media guide, they never arrive.
The refund was applied to our season tickets as requested and our seats were upgraded to the Platinum section at no extra charge for this season only. Put that together with the fact that we're feeling very, very threatened by the Metro pointing out we could get shut out of the free MLS Cup ticket offer if we don't order by Oct. 11 and you can be sure they'll be hearing from my lawyer too. Keep me posted on the class action suit. We're very interested.
I finally got my season ticket renewal info...debating if I am going to do it now, or wait to see if they are offereing anything extra to the ESC for next season
She seems to be one of the few people that actually knows what's going on and that has some customer service skills, which are severerly lacking with the Metros.
