    From Record:

Scolari: «Quem manda na selecção sou eu»

Scolari is awesome! He came right out and said that he's the one who picks the players, and he will pick who he chooses. This comes after Rui Costa and Figo were making comments about their views on Deco joining the Selecao.

Kudos to Scolari. This is just what we need for the Selecao, someone who is going to take charge and have them play like a team.

I agree. Scolari needs to put his foot down. He is the boss and what he says go. We all knew he was like this especially with the whole Romario soap opera last summer with the world cup. This is what Portugal needs and I guaruntee if he was coach last summer we wouldn't of had as early of an exit as we did. But on a side note I see where Rui and Figo are coming from. Pretty soon national teams will have full rosters of players that were not even born in that country. I agreed firmly with Figo's comment that anyone can learn the words to an anthem but to feel them is a different story. Deco always stated that his dream was to play for Brasil. Don't get me wrong he is a great player and I will support him 100% on the seleccao if he plays but I see where they are coming from. I'm lucky enough to be Luso American I love two countries......But I'm sure that A: this will all blow over soon, and B: the papers are blowing these comments out of proportion to sell newspapers. We all know that papers like Record, and O jogo are boarder line tabloids.

In today's episode of the Record soap opera:

    Confronto de Luíses

I agree with you dtoste that these papers are making a really big deal out of this. I can understand writing an article about it but front page of the newspaper the day after TWO portuguese clubs had quarterfinal matches for the UEFA Cup?
