This week-long sequel to last year's I Love The 80's (and I Love The 70's from earlier this year) begins airing tonight on VH1. -G
makes me wanna break out my Duran Duran satin jacket. hahaha. CHRISTINA!!!!!! I buy you pretty things and THIS is how you treat them!?!?
1987 - The year of Steve Guttenberg Is it me, or is Donal Logue beligerently drunk during his commentary?
Maybe I was in a bad mood all week, but I didn't enjoy this one as much as the original one, or the 70's one.
I can't turn this show off, either. And what's up with Boy George's new look? He looks like a giant glam version of Ralph Wiggam... completely bizarre.
I liked the first set so much better. The best commentators (i.e. the funniest) on the first one was Mo Rocca (I think?) from the Daily Show and the guy who used to be on the State and is now on Ed. Those two guys are hysterical on that show. Throw in a good quip from everyone here and there and you have a very very funny show. The new one has too many stupid people who provide their input about whatevery they are discussing. Three quarters of the time is spent explaining what it is they are talking about, instead of the hysterical comedy that should go with it. Just my opinion though. I can't turn it off regardless.
The whole series (ILT80s, ILT70s, & ILT80sSB) are like crack or carmel corn, I just can't get enough.
is it just me or did 89 have some of the best freakin movies? and they didn't even mention Major League... When Harry Met Sally Field of Dreams Major League Turner and Hooch what else? I think the first Bill and Ted movie.
Oh, god, yes. And so many others, too. Saw a lot of them that year-- certainly I had more time to do that than I do now. Not to mention, we've only got one major movie complex here, too. I'll have to brainstorm a wider list of those '89 flicks when I have a chance...
Just a few from my researched list... Back to the Future, Part II Dead Poets Society Do the Right Thing Field of Dreams (as Aimer said) Ghostbusters II Heathers Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Parenthood National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation License to Kill Let It Ride Sex, Lies and Videotape Sea of Love The War of the Roses That's just a partial list. The list starts here: http://search.movies.go.com/movieSearch?search=1989&st=6&col=movrev&gstart=1 Great year for flicks, that's for sure.
More of 1989 Glory The Little Mermaid Driving Mrs. Daisy Born on the Fourth of July Lean on Me Steel Magnolias (for the lady's) and let's not forget All Dogs go to Heavan Tango and Cash and Turner and Hooch
Yeah, that was a big omission from the list. "Why didn't somebody tell me that he has one of those . . . things!?"
