He's calling the Steelers Colts game tonight, and he's still bitching about Franco Harris' Immaculate Reception from NINETEEN FRICKIN' SEVENTY TWO.

    Time to let go, John.

The Raiders were crap then, and they're crap now. And you were the dirtiest, nastiest coach in the NFL.

    I'll crack on your Raiders.

My Chargers (yes, they are MY Chargers, been a fan of theirs since '81 when Dan Coryell was coaching the Dan Fouts-Kellen Winslow-Charlie Joiner-Wes Chandler offensive JUGGERNAUT) came to YOUR crib yesterday, and punked your team :D

    Hee hee hee.... ;)

Lynn Swann getting blindsided by Jack Tatum.

I will always and forever hate the Raiders due to that play.

And I will always and forever hate John Madden because he used to coach the Raiders.

I hate other teams more - notably the Browns, the Cowboys, the Ravens (because they used to be the Browns) and the Titans (because they used to be the Oilers) but I will also have room in my heart for hatred of the Raiders.

I'll never forgive Jack Tatum for his hit on Darryl Stingley, and how he's mishandled all the aftermath.

He paralyzed the guy, didn't he? Never once said he's sorry.

These are the sort of players John Madden cultivated.

Madden was and is a bastard.

Yes he did. There was supposed to be a face to face meeting a couple of years ago on Fox (of course) but Tatum wanted to use it to promote a book. F Tatum, he should rot in hell.

George Atkinson was another bastard in the Raiders' secondary. Not as bad as Tatum, but pretty damned close.

The Raiders had a reputation under Madden. It was very well deserved.

In his book, Hit Man? He gloated about it being the perfect hit and how he knew he hurt him real bad. Turnabout would be fair play for him. He should be the quadriplegic.

Didn't Darryl Stingley die a couple of years ago? I seem to remember hearing that.

You did notice I didn't DARE mention the sieve-like defense the Chargers sported back then. :D

Typical Chargers game back then ... Offense scores 33 points, defense gives up 36 points ... or SOMETHING like that ;)

And now the 2002-03 Chiefs are performing in a similar fashion ...

Actually this thread is a lie.
Madden didn't want to talk about it saying that the past has to be left there. He claimed to have moved on in his life, etc...

This could have been a set up by Al, but Madden really sold the bit. He then proceded to "draw" on the image of the parking lot, where 3 Rivers once stood, the estimated spot where Franco caught the ball.

Regardless, his main beef was not the play, but the rather suspicious manner on how the ref went to the dugout telephone, spoke to someone for a few minutes then made the call. The instant replay review rule did not exist back in freaking nineteen seventy two.

Hey it called selling the event. You know, 30 years ago, in Piss-burg, John Madden, the event 30 years later, the Piss-burg steelers on a Monday night. Oh yea, let's make it an event! That is why this was a set up. I just thought John didn't want to play that card until later in the telecast.

The best thing of all was knowing that Mr. Rooney didn't get to see the play. He was in the elevator. Hahahahaha, loser old man. Don't you hate it when "real fans" leave before the game ends?

    Go Browns!

BTW, I really hate John Madden. He is so stupid and Al has been taken down by him. They didn't talk about the game, instead they talked about stupid crap! BOOM!

You mean Tur-duck-en, the concoction with three drumsticks. Yup, Madden's John Candy without the jokes..."a big, dumb animal."

Rooney was going down to get ready for the trophy presentation to congratualate Oakland, thinking the game was over. Obviously it was not, but had they lost Rooney would have been classy enough to offer congrats. Al Davis? I doubt it.
