I think its all a mistake. Meola thought he was being invited to a SUPPER club. It would explain a lot.

As for Suarez, that may be beyond explanation. The headband makes me think of Olivia Newton-John ca. 1984.

Lalas may have had one too many slurpee.

I'm with you on this. There are many wonderful things in NY state. The Soccer Hall of Fame. Lake Placid. Rochester, city of roses. Apalachin, meeting place of gangsters. Saratoga, Hyde Park (FDR's home), Oyster Bay (Teddy's home), Cooperstown, Lake George, West Point. I could go on and on.

One of these is in Metro NYC, one isn't too far away, and the rest are a long ways away. No, I think I could go the rest of my life not going to NYC and not feel my life diminished in any way.

Okay, that is easily the ugliest avatar I have ever had the misfortune of seeing. If I were to guess what it is, I would guess that is a lamprey. Yuuuuuck!

Go buy stock in Dunkin' Donuts. Fat Tony will have them cleared out up and down the Jersey Turnpike by 6pm.

    Thx,

    Jay!

How is that possible? In order to have a feeling of superiority, you'd actually have to...you know...

New York, New Jersey, it's all the same. Just a bunch of peckerheads.

    I know, I checked.

Here's hoping the MetroTaints go back to the black and white lightning cut shirt and Lalas brings in Ramos to coach, Saverese and deAvila as assistants and buys a front bench shield for games at RFK.

    Tony Meola -
    Donuts at the far post,
    goals at the near,
takes a friggin' double wide to hold Fat Tony's rear

Lalas knows what he is doing, Meola and Suarez are the most important pieces of the puzzle... soon they will have the most immaculate defense... and sign Ritchie Williams.... MUAHAHAHAHAHA! This whole thread is so touching, I'm just going to have to cry... or not.

It's going to be fun to see Fat Tony eatting all though Dunkin Donuts again.

Obviously, when Lalas talked about a super club, he meant Super-Sized club.

I see I've found the intellectual thread of bigsoccer.net. I don't understand the Metrostar bashing either. No one cares about them here (check the attendance figures). You guys in DC are more into college sports anyway, which I guess explains your excitement for the MLS. So when you want to compare REAL professional sports teams, let me know.

Actually, except for the Yankees (are they based in NJ?) New York has a dreadful track record of underperformance. Hell, for all the coin the Yankees have spent since Steinbrenner took the reigns, I'm not sure you could call their performance stellar.

You're attitude is what is wrong with the MetroStars and soccer, MLS is a REAL professional sport, certainly the US National Team wouldn't be expected to qualify for every World Cup given a look at more than 16 years of history and the 94 team's auto qualification. You, and people like you, are why we hate NJ/NY.

Inhabitants of Meola's last MetroStars jersey were dismayed when they got their eviction notice yesterday.

Do you think that I will ever see time as the Metros' 3rd string Keeper?
