I had no idea Wow! I had no idea H.S. soccer was so bad. Is there anything we as a group can do to make changes? Who exactly makes the rules? Is it for each individual school, or school district, or statewide?
Why on earth would they switch sides at HT? Isn't the whole point that each team sees the same ref for half the game?
I disagree about many people's assesment over the unlimited subs. I like it at the HS level. Why? Because you allow kids who bust their behind in practice and show up all the time to get a few minutes of play. Back in my HS days, late 80's-early 90's, I was one of the least conditioned players on the team, but one of the hardest working and smartest tactically. Sometimes I would never get in, sometimes I would get several 5-10 minute stints. But there was always a chance. I can understand about people being traditionalists, but save the tradition for the top leagues, college, and possibly club ball. But for high schools, it's fine how it is.
