I hate that little midget elitest scumbag. He completley ruined Inside the NFL on HBO. The only good thing was when NBC lost all their sports so we see less of him than we used to.
The camera takes off about 5 inches. Bob Costas is actually a giant. Plus they give all the other people rises in their shoes so he looks smaller and therefore more likeable.
Ummmm No. The dope was against the wild card and inter league play both which have been great for the game.
He's a baseball traditionalist. A little smarmy, perhaps, but he's always been a great listen when a guest on Rome's show. I say make him the next Commissioner of Baseball. George Will can be his second-in-command, and that way we get both of them off Network TV.
Re: Re: I hate Bob Costas costas is damned annoying, but that man knows baseball the problem is that he uses his extensive vocabulary all the time and never shuts up he should be the commissioner of baseball now i disagree with him on the wild card, i think that has been good for baseball, but like bob... i despise interleague play and the dh
I love Costas. I was pretty pissed when NBC didn't get the rights back for baseball cause I knew it would be years before I heard him call another baseball game.
Being smart has nothing do do with being a television/radio/media personality when you are considering if you like the guy or not. Well, it may well work against him as he seems to talk down to the common folk. Take your wannabe Marv Albert act and go back to St. Louis. Frankly, I like him but can't take large amounts. He is obviously in love with sports and what they can mean to society in general. But, no doubt that his small stature made him over compensate. The only reason why Pat Riley went back to coaching is because of the time he grew to hate along side Bob. You all remember how seriously he took that stupid free throw shooting contest with Riles? In a game like baseball you can allow for more commentary but many times he seems too big for events. He deserves his press clippings as he will be remembered with the greats of a past generation. He is not one of these "Booya!" SportsCenter guys. He is a direct link to the past greats he so tries to follow, copy and remember. Those guys wouldn't have a greater caretaker. Maybe he does not fit into today's TV sports. Even if you don't like him now, you will miss him some day.
