So, Frankfurt and Dortmund got into the CL. Freiburg the one that misses out. Wouldn't mind seeing Barca drawn to play Frankfurt in the league phase. Revenge for the Europa league loss a couple of years ago. But please, don't let Frankfurt fans scoop up another 30,000 tickets in Camp Nou. That was embarrassing! Better yet, I want to draw them but have the match in Germany.
Scudetto race is right on a knife's edge entering matches tonight. Tough to call. Napoli playing away to a team in the relegation fight. Inter playing Lazio who are fighting for a CL spot... By contrast almost nothing to play for in La Liga with still 2 rounds/20 matches to play.
Asspainlol are still in quite some relegation danger. Just 2 points up on Leganes and they would lose the tiebreaker.
if they can't win at home against an already relegated Las palmas side then they deserve to be relegated with them
True. They'll probably get it done. But Leganes plays Valladolid, so Espanyol will probably need all 3 points. In the end, Espanyol's win v LPB will probably make the difference. Definitely must watch TV. Barca will be playing at a different time.
Yup, crazy finish to the Serie A season. Napoli also having a penalty VAR'd out in stoppage time. Napoli very lucky, after dropping points 2 games in a row. Yet still in first. Although, next weekend both Inter and Napoli playing teams with nothing to play for. So, maybe this was the last twist in the tale.
Most importantly for PSG haters, very unlikely now that Inter will have a playoff against Napoli in the midweek before CL final.
I see they scheduled the title-deciding fixtures for this Friday. Perhaps with the possible playoff in mind, should the 2 teams finished tied (Italy doesn't use goal diff or head-to-head to decide a scudetto). So, an Inter-Napoli playoff match could be played as early as next Monday night, 5 days before CL final.
FT: Spurs 1-0 Man U Johnson 42’ First Spurs trophy since 2008, 3rd Europa League title, first since 1983-84.
ManURE out of Europe... Of course, Athletic lost to those clowns, with the help of some shïtty officiating.
And quite lucky not to be fighting off relegation. The 3 promoted sides were all absolute rubbish this season. If just 1 had a decent season, the dog fight at the bottom of the table could have been epic. Apparently the game yesterday was terrible in terms of quality.
Meh, the EPL has degenerated into a core of ~15-17 permanent members, and ~6-8 "yo yo teams." For as poor as ManURE and spurs have been, there really isn't any danger to such clubs getting relegated. That said, manURE ARE a cautionary tale for Barça and other big clubs, in that poor, idiotic recruitment and planning can lead to disaster. The only thing that's kept Barça from falling as far is La Masia and a golden generation of youngsters. For me, Barça ought to invest in Barça Atletic this summer, and slow their roll on promoting teenagers into the first team for a bit. All while looking for low cost options for utility players that are needed at certain positions for the first team.
Well yeah, but fact is sometimes 1 or even 2 of the promoted sides are competitive enough to get 40-45 points. Spurs and Man Utd are just 1 and 2 positions above the relegation zone. Ergo, they'd be in trouble if this was one of those seasons that a promoted side was somewhat competitive.
Interesting times at the bottom of the table. Espanyol can still fvkc this one up, and Leganes can still make it to safety. Rayo, Vigo, and Osasuna in a 3 way battle for the last 2 European spots. Over in the epl, it's between Citeh, Newcastle, chelski, Villa, and forest for the last 3 spots in the UCL: Citeh need just a draw to maintain their spot. The others need a win or a draw, + help from their enemies.
Curious to see if all 5 of those teams will win this weekend, or if their opponents, with nothing to play for, will still put up a fight.
Espanyol and Leganes both play at home vs. the two already relegated teams, Las Palmas and Valladolid. Of these 4 teams, only Leganes has earned a point from their past 5 matches. The other 3 are in free fall, but something's gotta give in J38. Could be some real drama. Question for us is, will Barça's supposed interest in Joan García die down if he commits some kind of howler that condemns Espanyol to Segunda?
Inter lost the league to Napoli and before that the cup to Milan in the semi , ******** those dirty cheating bastards , hope they lose the CL to PSG as well. who am i kidding , there is no way that would happen to Infantino's favorite club , expect an even bigger robbery than that against us and Bayern lol
Good point. I wouldn't mind if Las Palmas bear Espanyol, while Leganes beat Valladolid, so that Barça could possibly take Garcia off their hands. Elsewhere, I'd like to see Osasuna get into Europe, because Fvkc Rayo. Over in the epl, I'd like to see citeh, Villa, and Forest take the UCL spots, because fvkc chelski/their 800 player roster, and I wouldn't want Barça to have to go all the way up to bumblefvkc Newcastle to play, so fvkx them.
