But we didn't spend 20-25 million on Raheem Sterling.

I am struggling to think of clubs that had a good summer transfer window. West Ham, maybe?

There isn't a lot of money to go around, in part because the Saudis have pulled back on spending. I read that only 4 clubs made money in the EPL in 22-23. And clubs are coming to the conclusion that reckless spending isn't the best way forward.

On the continent, no "big" clubs can compete with the EPL on spending, and few "massive" clubs even attempt to do so. And as noted above, EPL clubs are spending their way into losses, without much silverware to show for their efforts.

Moneyball has come into football. The name of the game is now "buy low, sell high to the stupid English and Saudis."

All that said, I think Atleti had a good transfer window, in that they added Alvarez, Le Normand, and Gallagher.

Miami closes on regular season titulero with one of the funniest scenes I've seen. Columbus lost 0-4 because they had to play over a half with an outfield player as their goalkeeper. This is because they had 3 goalies injured and their 4th goalkeeper got a red in the match. They only had one goalkeeeper for the match as they failed to get a short term contract for another goalkeeper.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/MLS/comments/1fblmhs/rusnak_scores_the_free_kick_after_columbus_only/

Miami lead is 7 points, with 7 rounds left.

France made some wholesale changes for their game against Belgium after the goalkeeper scolded the team after losing to Italy. Mbappe, Griezmann and a few others all benched.

They are beating Belgium 2 x 0 now.

An all-Madrid front 3 started for Brazil against Paraguay. Paraguay gets the clean sheet, 1-0.

    Yup.

That second PK, the ball was gone, and no advantage gained.

Viktor Roque came off the bench for Betis and pounced on a loose rebound and scored. It was 0-0 when he came on around the 60th minute, and Betis won 2-0 against Leganes.

Yep. Just a tap in off a rebound. We will have to see how he does. I don't have much hope for him coming back and having an important role. Best scenario IMO is he does well and the club can sell him and recoup some of the money.

New CL season and Madrid not wasting their time testing and riding their luck. Stuttgart wasting 2 point blank chances.

No idea why you guys are watching Madrid x Stuttgart. Not even in my top 5 of CL games I would want to see today, and result has no direct bearing on Barca's fortunes like their La Liga matches do.

But yeah, after looking at the highlights, the Madrid goals looked opportunistic at best and flukey at worst. I swear, 75% of Endrick's goals for Madrid are late meaningless goals where the goalkeeper makes a mess of it. Dont see the hype. Prove me wrong. :D.

For me it's a few different reasons. Even if it's CL, I do want to see how Madrid are doing overall since they are La Liga competitor. Then of course, I am curious with the whole Mbappe thing to see how that pans out. And if Endrick does come in, I do want to see how he plays as I do have a vested interest in that. Finally, on my IPTV it was the game that was on and I didn't feel going to Paramount to put a different game on. And I really didn't find any of the other games that interesting to be honest.
