We like Nico and his crazy hair-do's, but another striker in the squad is not a bad idea for the season. Someone to come off the bench and challenge for the no.9 spot. Sure, we can play Nkunku or Mr.Felix or Ice cold in that role IF we have to. Another central striker is a good thing for our squad, but if the player aint available we would do best to go with what we got.
Fine in theory, but if we bring in Osimhen or Toney and tell them "Great, come off the bench and challenge for a spot" they will become more of a problem than a help real fast, IMO
Osmihen looking to go to the Middle East. Tino Anjorin leaves Chelsea to join Empoli, and the permanent deal will be completed today. Chelsea will have 50% sell-on clause for Anjorin’s future sale. We need to sell some players. The bomb squad. If there are any real designs on getting sales completed for Broja, Chalobah, Disasi, DD Fofana, Washington, Petrovic, Carney, Chilwell and Sterling then i reckon somebody is going to have to get a wiggle on. Have we sold Lukaku? I forget.
Everything is a tradeoff. Jackson's durability has been good so far. If he's out for a long time I think I would put Nkunku in there, but the manager has enough options currently. Another option who is a traditional striker would be great in this scenario sure, but again to have that you assume the risks (that player pouting and ultimately being a net negative, plus the confidence/development losses for Jackson). For me, the risks of harm outweigh the potential benefits. YMMV
Sterling. Sterling is not a bad player, but I never wanted to buy him. He never really fir for me. But he is apparently popular with the kids in the dressing room. Apparently he is in talks with the club for a payoff settlement before he leaves. We are talking about £10m+. Chilwell has been radio silent so you know he is waiting to see how that develops before he asks for his. But things need to start happening soon. Overall the Club needs to stop with the silly swap deals. We'll buy yours, if you buy ours. We are shifting our “dross” for other club’s garbage.
Still got to make space for Estavao, and Paez. Next season. Estavao just been called up to brazil 1st team, it has been said that we need to make sure this guy has a good path to regular first team footy, as the top Brazilian talents are the most sought after, and having Brazils best player, increases the sponsorship opportunities massively.
Our squad depth is already enough of an issue. I don’t want to add another ST to the mix. Let’s roll with what we have. If it’s a problem we can keep an eye on the Jan window but have more than enough depth to get us there. Only thing we should be doing is selling right now.
"UEFA confirms that their rules do not allow clubs to register income from selling assets to related companies.# Guess we can't keep selling the hotels for accounting profits any longer
Timing couldn’t be better. Hopefully this gets them to stop fvcking spending. Say no to Victor. Stick with our current squad and sell the excess.
On a side note, we’ve sold academy kids to clubs with 50% sell-on. What happens now if the sister club buys from the other club and we try and wash cash that way. Wonder if there’s rules in place.
nobody is disagreeing with this. . . . but Fabrizo: ”Plan revealed now confirmed: Al Ahli delegation has arrived in Italy for direct talks with Osimhen and his camp. Contract on table with release clause, as Osimhen wanted. Chelsea in active talks with Osimhen on salary. Al Ahli deal only happen if #CFC talks collapse.”
Bomb squad players - what will happen to them? last minute loan deals? Sterling to Manchester United. Newcastle or Aston Villa. Wages prove to be a huge problem
Petrovic loan to Strasberg or whatever. Kicking that can down the road. He was one of our better players last season behind an awful defense.
It was really strange that he never worked out during his two spells here. He was a huge fan of the club, but also a giant douchebag. His second transfer was an absolute boondoggle. Nobody wanted it. It was a disaster. 2011 - 12: 12 games, 0 goals 2012 - 13: 3 games, 0 goals 2021 - 22: 44 games, 15 goals
A twist. Aston Villa will move for Roma's Tammy Abraham, 26, if Colombia striker Jhon Duran, 20 leaves the club for Chelsea. Duran offers much greater pun options than either Ivan Toney or Victor Osmihen. I actually think he is a decent player, which makes me wonder why Villa would let him go. Victor. The Saudi club have added another 10M p/y to the initial offer (now 40M p/y, four year contract) and also improved the transfer offer to 70M + 10M in add ons. Life changing money. Come on Victor just accept it so this can all be over. While we are at it hopefully Sancho accepts Juves offer as well. Sterling’s future unclear - perhaps the Middle East will offer an option in early September. West Ham, Aston Villa, Man United and Newcastle are not offering him the money he wants. Saudi transfer window remains open after friday, so there is always a chance....
Saudi Media Reporting Osimhen to Al-Ahli Saudi media reporting that Osimhen agreed to join Al-Ahli with official announcement in a few hours.
That's his career done.........but there again is it worth chucking in serious football for hundreds of millions of £'s? I would probably be tempted!
Yeah not gonna judge anyone for accepting that kind of cash. I'd like to think I would be principled and ambitious and turn that down to stay in Europe but......who honestly knows what they'd do with that much on the table Just glad he didn't end up here
Hang on. It is not quite over. . . the loan with obligation to buy is still in the mix. What does Victor want? IF he wants tonnes and tonnes of money those blokes in Saudi are offering. IF he wants to know - if he wants to see if he is a great striker playing in the best league. . . .come on over to Chelsea. Loan with obligation. Lets see if you are as good as the hype. I would see him as a bullet dodged, if we do not sign him. But if we do sign him then he better be as good as Drogba. Loan w/obligation to buy makes it next year's FFP problem for the buying club. Only the loan fee will count against this season's books, and the rest of his fee is amortised after that.
Deivid Washington to Strasbourg £17.6m https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1942219/Chelsea-transfer-Deivid-Washington-Strasbourg "Smashed" their transfer record by a massive £800,000.
