I wonder which leg they own. I think it it is illegal in most countries to own parts of players. Co-ownership isn't legal in the PL. Used to be very common in Italy but is now banned.
It’s certainly a clever way around that and it is clearly defined where no 3rd parties are involved which was the larger issue for the leagues.
[Fabrizio Romano] Armando Broja’s move to Ipswich Town from Chelsea could collapse as there are issues after formal steps in last 48h. Unlikely to happen at this stage with all parties now exploring different solutions.
apparently Broja's medical turned up an achilleas injury, and rumored clown-lake not open to changing the terms. Still not sure how announcing players are done forever at CFC, stripping away their numbers, making them train away from first team, leads to clownlake thinking they are likely then to get top money for those players
[Romano] Tino Anjorin joins Empoli on permanent deal from Chelsea with 50% sell-on clause for the Blues
WAGNH report the issue is not on Chelsea's side nor on the medical, is on the terms between Broja and Ipswich. I would guess that is the terms of what he would get in deal length and salary if Town stay up.
Let's be clear: Serie A is a clear downward departure from the Prem. It just is. Sometimes I watch these 'top strikers' and all I can see is shocking defending. It makes me feel like Alan Hansen or Roy Keane... and I don't like feeling like that My prediction is that Osimhen would be as big a flop as Sutton, Kezman, Shevchenko, Lukaku... I've just seen nothing to suggest he would be a high performer either within this league or within this team.
Al-Ettifaq have opened talks with Chelsea over a potential move for Harvey Vale. Broja may still join Ipswich. Deal no longer Pending. . . .I was on needles and pins if this transfer was going to happen. But it has been finalised and we have paid 17 million quid for a 19 year old keeper who we have now sent out on loan to where he was already playing. So that must be top business right? Who were we bidding against I wonder. Osmihen or Toney? Kepa is off to Athletic Club. . . .Bournemouth IF we sell Disasi to Newcastle, then Chalobah may leave the bomb squad and come back into the fold.
What are the odds on us signing Toney? Ivan Benjamin Elijah Toney ( forever to be known as IBET) Bit of a gamble.
Give me Toney for less than what we'd be held over the coals for on Osimhen. Osi's agent is talking like he's Ronaldo. Give me a break. I doubt the transfer fee is much of a deal...i think it's the salary. And it sounds like he doesnt want Chelsea anyway. No thanks. Toney scores like crazy on basic teams. But I dont think he fits our age profile. He'll turn 29 in March.
Toney is good but this one stinks. Feels like a classic flop signing with the added problem or stunting Nico's development. The stakes this season are comparatively lower. Give Nick the season to see what he can do. If he doesn't get it done Toney will be there for us next year, prob for less money too
For a club like Chelsea to have 3 centre forwards is not a stretch. An extra striker would certainly not stunt Nico's development. The opposite in fact. In the past we have had Vialli, Hughes, Zola and Flo all in the same squad. Kalou, Drogba, Anelka, etc. So the idea of having competition for Nico in the squad is a good thing. Problem is. Toney has one year left on his contract and they want 50 million quid for him. At 20 million, sure, he would be a good back up and challenge for the spot and useful to have in the squad. AND Victor? Victor is an above average striker masquerading as an Erling Haaland level striker. His salary demands are ridiculous. He's decent, but he is nothing that special. in my umble opinion Nkunku and/or Mr.Felix can play and cover at no.9 if we get injuries.
Speaking of bomb squads, apparently the FA is “looking into them.” From an Athletic article: “This isn’t keeping a player’s skills up to the level they should be. These are professional footballers and the employer is obliged to train them at the highest possible level.“ I’m generally pro-labor, but I’m not sure I agree with that statement. As long as you’re paid and not subjected to harassment or abuse, I think you’re good. If you’re not making the cut, that’s just football, right?
Am I the only one praying for a power outage til Sunday in London, dam the innocent bystanders and collateral damage, just so clown-lake can't do any thing really stupid?
Toney could make some some sense, Oshman and Sancho would be epic blunders and we would have to sell our u-6 team for pure profit
jackson could use the competition from Toney for sure. I dont think his fee will be as big, but it'll be big enough to force maresca to play him instead of giving jackon the minutes he needs to mature. I don't know. there aren't many reliable strikers out there for the getting. Munich got kane and they still lost the title. in semi related news, when we were winning like, 5-2 the other day, I had totally forgotten that nkunku was on the team when they brought him on.
I am pro-worker. Most 'workers' are not getting 75k a week . . . so i think we are in special circumstances.
Ivan or Victor? Can we go back to Villa and sign Duran instead? Duran - so many good puns and Dad jokes to be had - and he is the best of the bunch
Seems like I'm in the minority here, but I just don't see any reason for us to spend more on another striker. It's how we got into the mess we're in. We have a starter who produces at a pretty high level, is young and improving, and has proven to be pretty durable We have a young guy we just got for cheap who (despite the epic miss recentely) has shown some signs in preseason of being a capable backup/cup player We also have at least two other guys who can play as a striker (probably 3 if you include Cole) but primarily operate in other roles The idea that we'd spend a ton of cash on another guy is insane imo. Odds are we'll be desperately trying to offload them for a third of the purchase price in 2 years, and in the meantime they will have gotten in Jackson's way and squandered his development. Maybe if we had any shot at a title/CL, you could make the case that going all-in on a move like that for the short term would be justified, but for our team, this year, it would be malpractice I guess this is why I'm not getting DoF job offers...
EXCL: Al Ahli management set to travel to Italy today to advance in talks with Victor Osimhen. Nothing changed yet as Chelsea REMAIN in talks with Osimhen over personal terms/salary. Osimhen-Al Ahli, ONLY possible if #CFC are not able to agree on terms with Victor. maybe we sign victor and ivan? lol All things considered I would sign Duran. Maybe with Kellyman going the other way?
