[Fabrizio Romano] Understand Manchester United have reached an agreement in principle with Cucurella on personal terms. Green light arrived on player side. Man United won’t negotiate for any other left back now — as they want to get Cucurella deal done with Chelsea ASAP.
They all won the Champions League. As for Pulisic being injured. Well, he gets injured and fans run him out of town. Reece gets injured and we make him captain.
Saw talk they offered 2 mill and we countered with 7m. Guessing we land on 5m and they pay his wages. It will clear up FFP some more and hopefully showcase him for a deal next year.
Indeed. And lets be honest, Cucurella's not good enough. Maatsen is better cover at LB and Also Colwill and Badashile can cover at LB. Who knows Chillwell may not even get injured?
Reece is committed to Chelsea, whereas Pulisic and Mount were whiny motherfcuckers who bitched and moaned. And they even got their Dads to do their bitching and moaning for them. So that is the difference. Good riddance. Of course this season will be Pulisic's first injury free season no doubt. Pulisic has his own thread in this forum. I thank him for teaching me about a thing called a "hockey assist". I wanted him to do well for us, alas it was not to be.
They also gave us our worst finish for 30 years, I really wanted Havertz, Mount, Pulisic, Ziyech, CHO etc to succeed but ultimately they didn't, none of them exactly covered themselves in glory. Pulisic's performances compared to James' have been night and day.
Frantic last minute deals? Gossip abounds. Silence to follow. Potential outs : Sarr/CHO/Lukaku (all hopefully sold) Bergstrom, Beach, Cucurella, Chalobah, Burstow, Washington We've recently signed Deivid Washington, perhaps he'll get some minutes? If no-one coming in, then one of Washington or Burstow stays until January (cover for Nkunku). In addition, some other "Cobham" loans : Tino Anjorin, possibly Bashir Humphreys, Jamie Cumming Ferran Torres might be a target? Cole Palmer to Chelsea? AM/LW 21. City recently purchased Doku, So clearly Palmer is not in their plans. Chalobah to leave? Gusto and Disasi are ahead of him. Munich and TT interested in him apparently. If the Germans want him how about a cash and player deal for Jamal Musiala?
He did OK and did the club OK. Whining about being played out of position is legitimate. 20 goals in 98 appearances is really good. And we haven't replaced him.
Oh, we have replaced him, it is yet to be seen IF his replacements are better than he is or worse than him, but he has been replaced. The coach, the scouts and the club feel they have replaced him with better players - we shall see soon enough. The Chelsea fans in London really lost patience with him. Last season he had 26 appearances with 1 goal and 2 assists. That is not very good - not good at all. In total Pulisic made 142 app for Chelsea 26 goals 21 assists
How the FFP works apparently. . . If he goes out on loan, with UTD paying his wages, then his wages are off our books for the season. His Transfer fee is still an issue though. Roughly: Transfer fee: £55m Length of contract: 6 years FFP cost of transfer fee per year: £9.2m per year. So a loan fee, of say £2m - would see us register a FFP loss of £7.2m on his book value for the season, but we will save around £9m per year on his salary. This is vastly preferable to the option of keeping him as backup, which would cost us the full book value of his transfer for the season PLUS his wages - so overall £18.2m (ish) per season.
£35m bid has been rejected by Citeh. They want £50m and £45m might be do-able. But it is odd that he wants to trade Citeh's bench for the Chelsea bench. It seems a lot for a player that sits on the bench once Nkunku is fit enough. Cole Palmer looks very similar to Madueke. Have we given up on him already? AND like Mudryck and Madueke he is also not 'ready'. Nkunku, Sterling, Chukwuemeka and Jackson. Young players, long term contracts, a legion on the loan and not many players who are ready at this moment in time. Angelo? Diego Moiera? Fofana [not Wes, the other one]? Butch Casadei and the Santos kid?
The whole team was terrible last year. We can leave that at that and see who has better numbers/trophy count over 100 appearances. Mudryk and Noni or Pulisic? Our recruitment has just been all over the map and inconsistent. For what we paid for Mudryk, he needs to be ready now.
Yep, time will tell. I like Pulisic, but I hope we didn't peak with him and that it is downhill now. Agreed Misha Mudryck should be scoring and performing now. I would say it has been consistent. We are over paying. We are signing Young players on long contracts. We are signing players Full of potential and promise that could be 'Generational Talent'. It could be amazing. It is a huge gamble. Because it could be a disaster.
I think Mudryk, once healthy, needs to start for 3+ matches in a row to see what he is really about and get in match form
You can't pin our win in the Champions League all on Pulisic? You are right of course the whole team was terrible last year! Well nearly the whole team anyway! Of course the worst injury stats I've ever known didn't help (still an issue!), I think we have kept the 'better' performers from last season.
Just what we need [Fabrizio Romano] Chelsea have presented formal bid to Corinthians for 2005 born top talent Gabriel Moscardo #CFC Bid already discussed between clubs, as @brunoandrd reported. Told Corinthians now want €25m to sell Moscardo and make it club record sale. It’d be a signing for the future.
