Nkunku was bought to score goals for us now. He got injured. Nico was bought to score goals for us now. He has played 2 games for us and has yet to score Roma's Lina Souloukou is in London for talks with Chelsea over Romelu Lukaku. Italy is back on.
In the current squad and back in training. Coming back from injury. No loan at this moment in time. Hard to loan/sell a player who is not 100%. Mason Burstow - Is Burstow going out on loan OR are we keeping him in the squad as much needed back-up for our attackers? TBD - Pochettino likes him apparently. Fofana is ON loan at Union Berlin Chelsea also being linked with Folarin Balogun for £50m !!! which is a lot of money for a player with only one good season in France under his belt. IF he was any good Arsenal would keep him.
Our search for a half decent striker has been a very long and VERY barren one, fact is there is a hell of an opportunity open to anyone who can score even a modest amount of goals to be our best striker for quite a few seasons! :-D
With how injured the Jesus gets, it's kind of weird for them to offload Balogun. That said, I think it's more about the player wanting a first team opportunity that he deserves (but not at a club as good as Arsenal). He had a very very good single season. We've paid out over 100 million for a lot less pedigree.
I guess my point is is that a team should now be ALL about potential. There needs to be proven players in there. A proven striker would have been incredible to procure. But it doesn't look like it will happen. I think Jackson has that potential to finally be Drogba/Costa 2.0...but all potential.
"You can't win anything with kids" - Alan Hansen . . . but then, the kids did win, but then that was 25+ years ago. And so, in 2023, Chelsea are the new New Busby Babes, but this time minus the air crash. So many unknowns, I think it is possible, there is potential and that this team/squad could be top 4 or top 6 this season, but we need to see a few more games yet.
Deivid Washington [18] from Santos for a fee in the region of 20m euros (£17.2m). Really do not know much about him. Santos fans say he is great and we got him on the cheap. He will most likely join our Loan Army. Strasbourg. Todd will turn all these investments into good money and show all those Europeans how an American mastered the finances of Soccer Ball. . . .or something like that.
Please please happen… [Matt Law] Chelsea and Roma officials are meeting over Romelu Lukaku this morning. Chelsea want a loan fee of between £8m and £10m and Lukaku will have to agree to drop his wages to around £7m a year for Roma to fully cover his salary. Chelsea do not want to pay a %. Lukaku is in Belgium
lukaku is going to tell us to get ********ed. And so he should. Why should the 50% reduction in salary he is asked to take be paid to us in the form of a loan fee?
He could consider it partial settlement towards the Breach of Contract, fraud, non-performance suit we should bring, or eff off to Saudi Arabia
Marc Cucurella - been talked about move to Man U - they want a loan for the injured Luke Shaw. Attracting interest from Atletico, Spurs and Newcastle. Wants to stay at Chelsea so a loan may be possible. . . or we could try to get some money back on him eh?
Because he will lose a year of his career. Players have a finite shelf life and they love to play. He’s already rich. PT at this point is more important.
You’re halfway there. Players have a finite shelf life, so they have to make as much money as they can during their playing career. He’s not taking a pay cut that sees an equivalent amount to the cut go to the club.
Man United are also interested in Marcus Alonso. Eek. Cucu to United? We should insert a clause forcing him to start in any and all games against his parent club.
Romelu Lukaku to AS Roma, here we go! Agreement reached on loan deal valid until June 2024 — player will travel to Roma on Tuesday 🚨🟡🔴 #ASRomaSalary coverage around €7.5m for 10 months. Loan fee higher than €5m.Green light arrived also on player side.Done deal. pic.twitter.com/GgdXbckbT2— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) August 28, 2023
Interesting detail in Lukaku deal - other than dropping his wages for the year at Roma and further two years of his Chelsea contract, Chelsea have also written a £37million release clause into his new contract variation. Sets the price if he does well at Roma this season #cfc— Matt Law (@Matt_Law_DT) August 28, 2023
Hand up, I was wrong. He was willing to take a pay cut. I hope he misses a penalty and Jose loans him to Everton.

You really have to applaud the work Winstanley and Stewart have done this summer. OUT: - Kepa (loan) - Mendy - Koulibaly - Azpilicueta - Ampadu - Kovacic - Kante - Loftus-Cheek - Hall - Havertz - Mount - Ziyech - Pulisic - Aubameyang - Lukaku (loan) Just CHO, Sarr and Cucurella to go then. It might have been nice to keep Mount and Pulisic imho. But I do not feel that we NEED them. There is a rather nasty Mount chant circulating on the internetS.
Any last minute deals? As the deadline approaches. Raphinha? On a loan? Emile Smith Rowe - May have soured relations with the Arsenal. Arsenal have been directly offering the player to other PL sides including Chelsea and Newcastle. Christopher Nkunku is out of action until the end of the year Armando Broja is still recovering Carney Chukwuemeka picked up an injury Misha Mudryk sidelined ‘We were talking about one offensive player with the right profile to help,’ said Pochettino last week. ‘If you said to me we can add the right profile? Yes [we would sign someone].’
The Lukaku loan fee and salary off the books saves us/earns us 16m. It was a dumb move when it happened and looks even worse now. Rom will hook up with Jose for the third time in his career. Tammy getting screwed.
I dont think either of those players moves the needle short or long term for me. Chelsea Twitter are creaming their pants over a possible Felix swoop, but that would be a mistake. I've also seen some people asking for Hazard; apparently these people have been in a cave the past several years. What's funny is the whole "boy, I wish we had a young player who could play anywhere along the front but also maybe even as an advanced midfielder." oopsy ********ing daisy we decided to use this guy as a wingback. RLC looking tasty, too.
IF only he was able to stay fit for more of the season. . . Also, as much as i wanted to keep Pulisic and Mount - they both wanted to leave. so fcuck them.
Pulisic, Havertz, Mount et al were all given plenty of opportunities here - they weren't good enough.
