You see the title. I have no desire to get excited about this team.

They do have a third jersey though to celebrate their 85th anniversary. On their 75th anniversary, it also marked the return of The Captain. Can't believe that was 10 years ago. But I digress.

Hat-trick by the rookie, Derek Stepan and the Rangers win 6-3 over the Sabres in Buffalo. They looked pretty sharp. Not too happy about allowing 3 goals but it's early. Good start to the season but they must sustain this unlike previous years.

No disrespect but damn the Sabers stunk it up tonight. I flipped this game on as I wanted to hear Rick Janerette call a game but I just couldn't take watching the Saber suck fest.

Wait, is it "Saber" or "Sabre"? Anyway, I take this game with a grain of salt. The Sabres defense was crap and had tons of breakdowns. But, I'll take it. I'm more concerned about the Rangers sustaining the pressure. Their problem is taking their foot off the gas pedal and letting teams get back into it.

Next time, I'll just go with Buffalo ;)

Rangers played well though, wasn't taking anything away from them. Just surprised how completely flat Buffalo was, they have a good team and should of played better. Their defense is terrible, you're not going to win much when Jordan Leopold is your 2nd best D man. Ennis is going to be special though and Sekera is another great sleeper in the NHL, if Ruff ever takes the leash off of him.

Back to your Rangers... I'm pretty curious to see how well Frolov does, him and Gaborik should form a nice 1-2. Can't wait to see Boogaard take on a few for a shot at the title.

I figured it was better than 'subs' - though I'm a little confused as to why it's still chanted in MSG.

Tradition, I guess. Although its gotten pretty annoying. No one can whistle it properly, first of all, and feels like most people do it to get a pat on the back. "Hey man, good job starting that chant!" WHO CARES?!?!?!?!?

Shitty ending. I don't know what that first penalty was before the second that led to the 5 on 3. Either way, not good.

The score of tonight's loss to the Leafs was very flattering for us. We got outplayed big time.

I say this every year but I feel bad for Henrik.

This team is driving me nuts. They either look good or real bad. And since when did the PK become so terrible. We're always one of the best in the league so to see them ranked near the bottom is disheartening.

Nice home win last night for the Rangers, beating Calgary 2-1. It was a chippy affair from the start. Big hits, intense, low-scoring, big saves and the Garden was into it.

Ryan Callahan is undoubtedly the captain of this team. I don't care how long Drury has been in the league but Cally is just pure energy, non-stop, in your face and leads by example.

Yeah I caught the highlights of the game, any word on if Staal is going to get fined or anything for that hit on Stajan?

Yep, Callahan is just fockin' awesome. Dubi as well.

We need to get Drury back. Not only is he our best PK'er, but he's the best face-off guy as well (we've been dominated in the face-off circle all season, usually by double digits).

Guys like Cally and Dubi are good pk-ers, but they are now playing huge minutes on the pp, pk and even strength. Eventually, they just get too tired. Getting Drury back to play some PK and 3rd line will lighten the load on those other guys.

    No posts since November, eh?

Team's on a roll right now and playing like the way they're capable of. It's been a treat watching them since their January swoon and overall, loving the gritty, blue collar style the Blueshirts have been playing.

I'd still like to see some more offense but Hank's been outstanding in this most recent stretch and the team is getting the job done. They just need to start and finish strong as they're still guilty of taking a period off before getting their shit together.

Playoffs aren't a lock but their magic number is 6 with 6 left. I'm hoping they make a push and take the 5th seed to play Pittsburgh. Oh how I'd love to play the Pens in the first round.

Yup Hank is been unreal, as usual. And that's with a stiff neck since the Montreal game!

Pittsburgh is very beatable without Crosby and Malkin. Crosby is starting to take the ice again but I haven't looked up what his possible return date is looking like so not sure if he would feature for them if we were to play against them.
